If you have used the W800i then I would say that the media player is one step better in the P990i. Mega bass is there. Album artwork is supported. Sound quality is very good with wired earplugs and cans. My opinion of wireless stereo with the HBH-DS970 is mixed. Songs with heavy bass cause other sounds to "drown" behind the bass. An example: in the song "Given Up" from Linkin Park's latest album, to me it sounds like Chester's vocals get interrupted by the heavy base beat. Other people here have not had the same experience. Someone mentioned that very high bitrates can cause problems with A2DP headsets.

I dont think the p990 is as bad as is claimed, although it could be better.But if u can afford the P1,then my advice is to go for that.

I got mine roughly about 1.5 weeks ago (with an original Sony 1 GB card which is a PRICE drop now coz of the imitations . . .) after my Dad bought his a week before I got mine. Updated with the latest firmware via the NET - SEUS. Fone is OK. IMHO, this is the BEST-looking
P-series fone to date
back then I am really at awe with the P910i's - beauty . . . until the all metallic-P990 hit the market !

If you ask me, the P990 was the last phone in SE's current sad lineup that actually set a standard in the mobile industry, feature-wise. So yes, that stands for something and even though the implementation was the worst in SE history IMHO, personally I don't see anything else at all in the market that has the combination of flair and specs it has. And now the bonus of a hefty drop in value makes it a real option to dwell on
