Altho I must mention that spending that amount to buy a gadget like a cellphone, on its launch time, is a bit on the not so smart alley. Well that's a lesson learned.
Hey! That's me you're talking about

I don't think so.
It seems to me that the idea of forwarding questions to SE regarding the P990i, on behalf of Esato was very well intentioned by Mizzle. There is a lot of frustration, me included, concerning the P990i. We have an opportunity to get some feedback, which we are still to receive when / if it eventually comes from the relevant technical department.

You should have opened your eyes before buying it.
Ouch!

I think that could be phrased better. Thanks for forwarding the questions to them and please post what you hear back.

Hi all
As it appears many of you now are of the same mind as i reached a long time ago and i won't bother repeating all the points i have previously made.
SE will never acknowledge or apologise for what they have done and worse that than that it appears they won't change either. Like many i was hopeful SE would do the right thing and possibly if they released a devcie that performs as specified with up to date spec's one day i may return. The latest set of non answers both from the CEO and UIQ really show us all we need to know and i really doubt there is a way back for most of us.
Don't fool yourself either Mizzle is taking advantage of this thread to say he won't give us answers that IMO it is very unlikely he will even get and if he does i will be just the same type of hollow BS as we have alreday been given nothing with any substance will be forthcoming IMO.
Anyway enough thread spamming by me otherwise I'll incur the wrath of Mizzle once more LOL.
Marc

To be honest guys,i also suffered a bit when i got the p990 although not as bad as some of you did experience. But i think we dont need to over flog the issue.
We've all made our mind known to SE in no uncertain terms. Am sure they are aware of the displeasure of many of their customers, and would try not to make that same mistake in the future.
Although i expected them to acknowledge this, that would have frayed some nerves.
Anyway SE is still a young company and they are still learning. They've achieved alot in such a short period of time.
Am sure we'll get top class phones from them in the future

@Chusky
Sorry but that is such a bunch of rubbish SE was not a brand new start up company and was formed by two Company's with a wealth of experience. To put it simply it is what it is and no amount of excuses will ever make it right it really is ridiculous how it's always poor little SE there new, there small, they don't have the funds for R&D. When the answer is really simple then don't release untested not fit for purpose products then and take your customers for a ride then.

It was formed from two companies that were in the doldrums - saleswise. Ericsson- no matter how people might romanticise about it, was a washout and Sony phones failed to even register on the radar, at all. They've achieved a lot since.
The P990i debacle has been well thrashed-out on Esato as you well know. To carry on is just 'raking over old coals' and really, I think we should not lose sight of the fact that when Mizzle forwarded the questions to SE he was well intentioned in doing so.

I don't think anybody has suggested anything different and i suppose 6 out of ten really is par for the course for SE, but Mizzle's suggestion of what did we expect from 64mb RAM and now threatening not to pass on the answers even if he gets them is just ridiculous.
Not being unrealistic everyone that is old enough remembers that Ericsson where weak in sales but they produced the best devcies by far. As far as quality and innovation went Sony had the design and marketing skills which is why the combination on paper looked to offer so much for the future. But with out a doubt marketing and gimmicks have surpassed quality and innovation and seem to be the rule of thumb.
Just simply look at since the launch of the K800 with the EROM problem just how many SE devcies are realeased in dire need of firmware as stated above for the most recent cases. If we forget the early UIQ devices how could the P1 released so long after still have 3 of the known bugs from the P990, how ever you want to look at it it's not good or encouraging.
All these recent interviews and answers really say nothing can you not see just how many are leaving and have left SE and how bad that is for them in the long term.

Surely he was, and it was a good effort.
However his tactless response to those who still rankle over the P990 issue is really not helping the fact that the P990 saga will never be over unless SE lays it to rest by acknowledging it.
However many threads are locked or replies deleted, the P990 problem will continue to fester.
And TBH I think there are more than a few users waiting for Nokia S60 TS devices to be announced.
