If you have a original "brown" prototype phone that may be different, BUT with a RED phone that trick DOES NOT WORK!

I guess there is some process in the firmware for k800 that changes that value in the GDFS at startup (first boot i guess).

You can run k800 FW on a 790 then flash that gdfs script and get the network back (its not recommended but it works)

Gotcha. I do indeed have a K790i 'brown' phone which has been converted to 'red' Only thing I haven't been able to do is convert it from CID49. It just won't take CID52

Hi,

Yesterday I flashed the phone (k790a) with 3 different firmwares (all for k790a) and 2 different customization packs (generic America and telcel-the brand of my phone) and things are not looking good, I still have no network and it still makes weird tickings instead of sounds and it's still giving me all this invalid sim/wrong sim/change sim messages and it also crashes everytime I open the camera. Something is very wrong here but I don't know what else to try.

I also tried to flash older firmware and connect it to seus but it always told me that the phone was up to date.

These are the files that I tried:

I still have not messed with the gdfs script and I did a backup of the gdfs but could someone explain to me what the gdfs does besides assign or block frequencies? Could it have been corrupted when they flashed the k800i stuff?

Is there a way to completely erase everything on the phone to start from zero?

Could there be something wrong with the files I am using? Or with the flash drivers?

I don't know what else to do.

try master reset

is your phone locked or unlocked?
go to Services info (press:>*then post Software info and Configuration

its a 790a so dont use any 900 stuff.. thats why you have "no network" save that string i have back in this thread in a .txt file. use xs or setoolt2lt to run that gdfs script to get network back.

Dont listen to any one who says thats a quad band phone. Thats why you have "no network" its looking for 900 and there is no 900 hardware in that phone.

Its looking for 850 not 900 and in France is only 900/1800

SO patch unlock it!

I still think that your gonna have the no network error after that. But ya if its locked to come other carrier patch unlock it.

I unlocked it and then tried both gdfs scripts separately and then one after the other, but still no signal so I reverted to the backed up gdfs. Camera still crashes, sound's still weird.
