I don't blame you btw it's god to change,
prob with is they don't have anything new in design-wise
and when it comes to features don't get me started

Still marveling my P900. OK it's old, but reliable and it does what it does well. Had a rough start with it, but now it is great. My next phone

Ive finally had enough with SE, this is my 4th or 5th phone to break with in a year of me owning it, and when im paying 700 dollars for a phone (k850) i expect it to last longer. First my K800 died on me and wouldnt turn on so then i got a k550 to use just until the k850 came out, i got that and after not even 4 months the one button wouldnt work, i really had to press it down and hope that it would work. Then i finally got the K850 and now every time i press the '5' button it acts as if im pressing back and the same goes for when i press down on the d pad. Its so annoying. My wife also had a S500 which also broke, i actually recommended that same phone to a new mobile user and he complains about how poorly its made and certain buttons wont work.
My wife now just has a K770 and i have a broke K850.
Im originally from england but now live in america and its not as easy as it is in england just to take your phone into the store where i got it from and they fix it, i have to send it back to SE and to be honest its ridiculous. There are no real good phones out here for cheap and with the 3G i phone at just $300 id be crazy not to get it, but i dont want it because everyone has one. But Apple actually have really good service and their phone is really good. I dont care about a decent camera anymore on a phone i just want the internet. But i know that i am def not getting another SE again. I have used them for many many years and this is the last time i will use the, Their standards have really slipped in my opinion.

Sadly I have to say I agree with everything you say. I have also been moaning about the shoddy build quality and poor state of the software delivered with SE phones for some time now.

I am astounded that so few here want to make SE face up to their duty to their customers, by flaming those who dare to complain about being ripped off!

I am going to give them one last chance with either the G900 or the X1 if they have not got these right then I feel this will be my very last SE phone until they have realise why they are losing money and market share at such an alarming rate!

i'm always amazed when i see threads like this... and it always leaves me with one question...

What do you guys do to your phones? is it the way you use them or are people on here just plain unlucky?

I had a k800i but never had the problems ppl on here kept having.... then got a k850i and had not one single problem with it at all!!! and now i have been using the C702 for a while and again no probs what so ever....

Now i am waiting for the general reply of "well i use mine a lot and that prob why!" but my bills are generally in the £200 mark every month, the phones sole use is for work but gets used for personal stuff too... i take about 20-30 pics a month (like to print them out on ma polaroid printer!) and use it as my main mp3 player so it gets used a hell of lot. But still i dont get all the probs u guys get!

My k850i froze about 2 times in 12mths which in my eyes is ok... damn it ma laptop freezes more than that an i paid a hell of a lot more for it!

So why does everyone on here get these probs whilst i dont?

@Voda Jon

Simple and quick answer is because all phones are not created equal and this isn't just a SE problem either. I think really the answer is all phones are now so mass produced and at much lower prices that quality control suffers.

This is not just build quality either but software to, the other point to factor into this is our devices have got more complicated and advanced as well. Then add to this all the different combinations of 3rd party software users add and some experience problems whilst others don't.

But Jon like you i tend to be lucky with my devices and haven't suffered many of the problems some do with various phones i have owned. But then i only install the apps i actually need and use avoid Beta's at all cost's and always install apps, ringtones and themes to the phone memory and not memory cards.

I deserted SE because of how UIQ3 was delivered in 2006 and since then due to the lack of the features i feel i want and need in my devices. So far to date this still hasn't changed hence my not buying any SE devices since my M600.

Marc

@Voda_Jon the phones you mention are good reliable units priced to sell, the phones that give the most problems seem to be the very expensive flag ship models that promise much yet all too often deliver well below the manufacturer's claims and suffer from shoddy build quality.

For example my P1 cost me nearly £350 yet I had to spend 1/2 a day making modifications to stop the battery cover creaking and wobbling!

that is simply NOT good enough if it was a car it would get a recall but complain to and what happens you are told take it to a service center and they say:-

"Oh they are all a bit like that" in other words "that just the way they build them, you don't pay for them anyway (Well I and many other mugs DID) the model changes every 18 months, we cant really do anything about a manufacturing defect so unless you want to keep bringing it back every week, just accept you have been mugged off and that way you can keep using your phone.

Well I for one have had enough of Sony Ericsson taking the p**s and the £'s out of me so I can fully understand and support 100% threads like this one I work very hard for my money and when I spend it I demand value for every single penny, don't you?
