Plank if they are talking about ARM9 they are wrong C905 have two ARM9E and 'E' makes big difference

well. they didnt mention that. they only wrote ARM9 clocked 149 Mhz, so i pretty sure they meant the same as you (they are not some rookies in this business, thats for sure )

so c902 have also ARM9E but clocked at 169 Mhz ????

I don't know nothing about frequency, this is quite complicated thing in ARM and depends on various parameters. old K850 is 2x ARM926 (9E), so I guess C902 is in the same league, still both DB3150

BTW.
both CPUs are independent. one controls access subsystem (GSM, EDGE, GPRS, USB, etc.), second controls application subsystem (graphics, audio, keypad, etc.)

The estimator is just an Estimation, the other site probably got the clock speed from the estimator. C902 is not clocked at 169Mhz as the estimator says, more likely it it 200-250Mhz (same with C905)

Had anyone heard of Intel-speedstep or AMD Coo-and-Quiet like technology on mobile phone CPUs? why are people constantly thinks that phone CPUs runs static at its max frequency? i won't believe that phones like C902 and C905 have different CPUs installed nor different clock speed, but rather on the fact that their performance depend on how much load it runs and the corresponding clock rate sufficient enough to complement on the running application while saving power.

You're right - the great majority of cellphone CPU's don't come anywhere near PC/notebook performance.
