the max memory you can have with all the preset stuff on is about 568k. after doing the 13s trick you have about 587k.
i don't think its worth wiping EVERYTHING off you phone to save about 20k! 20k that won't even hold a 640x480 photo taken with the communicam!!
PLUS you have to go through the hassle of writing down your wap and gprs and mms AND email settings and your messages and address book are wiped off! dont do it!
sure most of the preinstalled stuff is garbage, but someof it's OK.
I want to be able to individually delete certain preinstalled items. so i've posted in a topic stating that this is what we want. it will be forwarded to Sony Ericsson. you post in it too if you're with me and others!

the only things i found you cant delete are the themes, everything else does, eg. games, ringtones, pictures. just highlight the item and press "c"

Something strange is happening here...
1. Pick any animated picture and check it's size
2. Check your memory status
3. Choose pictures
4. Check the size of that same animated picture.
Is it just on my phone? All my animated images show like double their size when I check this way versus when I check them individually.
Even before I send them to the phone they're only showing like 25k, but checking under memory status they'll show using 50k, for example. Even the MMS templates I uploaded to the phone show a significally higher size than they are before I uploaded them.
So what's the deal here?

I posted this in a differnet form though it might help.
I have also done the master reset/file transfer trick and have come up with 846 free (actually 63 themes and 80 ringtones) which still leaves about 700 free. That's the best i've been able to do but the great thing is I got rid of the t-mobile start up screen, shutdown screen and also the wap services icon is not t-zone.
So i 'm happy for now.. but i wish there was an easy way to do thins stuff like freakin regular deleting would make me happy because they're still stealing 100kb from me atleast.
If you wanna try the technique I do a master reset and count to about 20-24 sec then pull the battery off turn it back on and load all the games etc.. via infrared... the reason i do the master reset is to get rid of the opening shutdown screens. It will leave you with about 603 now fill it up with your stuff.
then delete all the preinstalled items... You'll keep on getting memory full errors biut keep on going till you delete all 56 pics then nail the ringtones and you should be goood to go.
Best of luck....

does this 13 sec trick remove all the address book and the account information for e-mail etc...
i dont want to lose all that aswell
id doesn't remove your adress book, but though it removes all your accounts...so better write down these parameters so you can recover them afterwards

Read tha f%#king message!!!
But err... When exactly do I have to start counting till 13? When the Master Reset is completed?
I also have another question: where can I update my phone-software? In a store where they sell Sony Ericsson?
P.S.: I bought my T300 at eBay, and it has f%#kin' T-Mobile sh!t all over it (in the software I mean).

Well all what people say that the 13 Secondtrick aint deleting the pre-installed stuff, is correct. It doesnt. But I can't agree what someone said that from the beginning you have 538 Kb and only increased it with just a bit. I never had over 500 Kb on my phone. It was close but not over. I did the 13 second trick many times, and this time I succeded. I got from 500 up to close 650 Kb.
The only things you have to think about it, to delete all stuff you have put in the phone yourself, before you do a master reset. Because they might stay in memory even after reset. it happend to me once. I had 3 games, and didnt delete them. They were still there. So the advice is, delete everything before. Then you do the 13 second trick.
Today when i got 14 midifiles, and one Imy file ( 15 together) 55 pics (together with those pre-installed that still is there) One game 114 Kb and one theme. and still have 223 Kb left.

It didn't delete my addressbook!!!! Yeah!!!
Anyway, I've found a way to backup your phone book from your T300:)!
Just go on your T300 to Phone Book > Advanced > Send all. (You'll need a computer connection [cable/IrDa])
There will be a file transferred to your computer (it was on my desktop) named
Whole Phonebook.vcf.
Do NOT try to import this backup file with Outlook or something! (believe me, I tried and it only imports the first contact)
If you want to restore the backup (for example after a Master Reset) just rightclick on the backup file (there must be a computer connection [cable/IrDa]) and send it to your T300 as if it was an image or a game or a ringtone.
NOTE: If you restore the backup while the contacts are still on the T300, duplicates will be added.
Enjoy
