So you will have enough power & the phone will

Oh, and Talon88: My "former Ericsson" friend told me that the gauge shows fully charged long before it actually is, especially the first 3 - 5 times. Something i have found to be true, at least with my Nokias. If you remove them from charger the minute they show "fully loaded" you get absolute crap standby time! Now, i know they have/had different type of battery, and maybe SE has tested and found that 4 hours is really enough, but as it wonīt hurt the phone to be left on charger a reasonably long time (like the 16 hours weīre talking about) I figure itīs better to leave it overnight. I have always had excellent standby time on my phones, and that may well be luck, but as i have had success so far with the way i deal with the charging, why change
(unless of course some entirely new type of battery comes out with specific instructions to do otherwise)

A couple of points about rechargeable batteries: The charging characteristics of LiIon and NiMh are somewhat different. The same model phone may offer both type of batteries (with different capacities). So the charging instructions might differ, apparantly for the same phone. The same charger may be smart enough to charge both type of batteries properly.
NiMh, and to a lesser extend LiIon, need a 'forming period' when intially used. 4 to 5 full charging and FULL DISCHARGING is needed for the battery to attain its full storage capacity.
Most modern chargers automatically do a high rate charge to get to about 70% to 85% of full capacity and then do a 'trickle' (low rate) charge. It might take many more hours of trickle charge to fully charge. Most built in battery charge indicators in the phone as well as the charger may show that the the battery as fully charged at the end of the high rate charge, that is, when the battery may only be 75% charged.
After the initial few full charge/ deep discharge cycles, both NiMh and LiIo batteries can be recharged after partial discharges without much adverse effects. So one can simply plug it in when convenient.
The characteristics of the LiPolymer is very similar to the LiIo batteries.

When the display is fully on it uses about 65mA, and when dimmed after a few seconds it continue to take 45mA. So the 15hr standby number (which the standby indicator will show with the display on setting) is consistent with the above (750/45=16). So remember that the standby time will go from 260hrs to 15 hrs with display forced on.

You can't avoid the memory effect on NiMh, unless you fully cycle (discharge - recharge) regulary, so it's a good thing they are not used any more.
LiPo batteries don't have to be conditioned, and there is no need to charge it for longer then 4 hours the first time.
And finally LiPolymer and Li-Ion batteries not only have the same characteristics they are almost the same. Li-Po stands for Lithium Ion Polymer.

Infact I am not sure if I am the only one but my new packed battery wasnt really empty and it had quite a substantial amount of charge when I bought the phone. Is it normal with new phones ??
I went by what manual says "wait approximately 4 hours or until the icon indicates that battery is fully charged". it just took about 2 hrs for my new battery to get fully charged and I started using it after that.
As I see I have followed the instructions as its written in the manual and if 4 hrs initial charging is a must then SE should have written it clear cut than putting an or ....
Any inputs ??

A small query if you can help me out with this one..
What does Style stand for in IMY files ?? I have seen a lot of them with S0,S1 n more...
I have also noticed that when I set a file with no style set as a ring tone, T610 happily ignores it and plays the default SE tone instead.

the batteries on my firends t68 m lasts much longer, a week usually, mine only 2-3 days i sure hope they bring back the battery status indicator.
