> So T610, is this right (Hiss related)

hurrah! my phone just arrived back thic morning from Celestica (i sent it on Thursday- so 3 days is amazing)
The dreaded hissing is gone and ring tones are as loud as ever, and they sound quality in voice calls is top notch - i rang a lot of people to test it (not many free minutes left now).
Had a look though the phone and nothing has been deleted (ring tones, themes etc).
Also to verify that it has been a hardware fix as they have replaced the sticker under the battery that protects the screws from being tampered with (well assuming that they don't need to access the internals of the phone to turn down the amp, as that is surely a software fix, with a cable attached to the access port).
If so i'm not fussed as THERE IS NO HISSING and i can again be proud of my unbranded (sod u Vodamoan) T610.

Errm, may have done - but there's only the one public release version out currently, R1A081 - so if they did, they'll have just flashed the same software over the top. (I'm thinking they didn't bother since still got all contacts etc - they could've backed it all up first, but i doubt they would've done!)
oh right. I heard people had R2A or even R2B. ok no prob. ta!

Not that i've heard - R2A etc sounds like the hardware revision, like mine is R2E and the hiss-free-from-factory are R3A (unless you mean R2Axxx for example? But still not heard of anyone with it!)

yeah I did mean R2Axxx or R2Bxxx of course...
ok well I might hang on a bit more until there is some new firmware to make it even more worthwhile sending in.

Hi all
Got my T610 on Wednesday from Carphone Warehouse. It was a hisser. Since then I have had 3. All have hissed. 2 of them were direct from their head office and I asked them to test them before sending them to me but they obviously didn't

So today I bit the bullet and sent it off to Celistica for the repair as I am fed up of waiting for a working one from CPW. Hopefully it will be back Tues or Wednesday.
Wanted to stick with CPW phones coz they are original untampered with phones so all original menus

Went with O2 in the end. Was with Voda.
Apart from that I love the phone big style. Great upgrade from my T68i and all my blutooth stuff works.
Let you know how my phone is when I get it back.
Cheers, Rich

unless we are misunderstanding things how can the Rxx number be the hardware version 03w16 r3a and others have 03w19 r2? - surely SE would not drop backwards from w16 to w19 ?

I was about to purchase a T610 on ebay, but after hearing all this hissing talk I dont think ill bother as I would have no comeback on ebay if i had a problem. I think i will go for a samsung v200. Is the hissing really that big a problem. And which phone would you choose considering my situation and that i will not be buying from a shop as it is a little bit above my budget
