I had a hardware fixed but... softer poly ringtones also. Here are what they changed for me:

- Resistor 100ohm R675
- Resistor 1kohm R657
- Resistor 1.5kohm R668
- Resistor 2.7kohm R665
- 2 Screw with washer
- Schield Can Lid

I sent my handset in to Celestia yesterday, with a note about the hissing as well as about the handset volume. I find the volume when talking to someone rather dull, so hopefully they will give it a boost. Should have it back tomorrow!!!

thats trange .. i had none of that changed for me only a part called "DPY 101 2623/68". maybe i got a whole new top part to my phone, i.e screen and speaker. feasable ?

And do you have softer poly ringtones now? (Look at the ringtone "NYC" for example, before the repair it was loud and now not much)

i don't know yet, celestica forgot to send my battery! i'll get it 1st thing tomorrow so i'll check then. i'll be pissed if the ringtones go down in volume.

Normally not for you It is the resistors that lower the volume.

i just got a replacement from T-Mobile which i'm charging at the moment. The T-Mobile staff seemed to have been told that it was the battery that was causing the problems, any word on this?

a battery causing the hiss ? i wouldnt think so. in-fact no. when celestica repair it, the only thing they tinker with is the ear piece.
