I have just about thrown my computer out the window thinking it was windows just not liking my phone. I am running 95 and it seems that sometimes if I reboot and stand on one leg it "finds the phone". I havent tried slowing down the speed yet for fear of another failed attempt. Any suggestions out there I am more than happy to entertain. Thanks. TD

I have 2 O/S in my PC :

1. O/S: Windows 98se
2. O/S: Windows XP Pro

Outlook: Outlook 2000
Ericsson phone: t68i
Firmware version: R2B025
IRDA : Amaze PC (Generic)
Software : R4A Package 4 ( download from Esato)

Work well without any problem on Win'98se, but fail on Win XP.

My setup:

Toshiba Tecra 8100 (FIR port - speed can't be changed)
Windows XP Professional
Outlook XP
Ericsson Communications Suite R4A (Package 1 + 2)

i-mified T68m, R2E006 firmware, R4A hardware

Result:

It works.

Our service point mentioned to me something about Ir communication failure to be a firmware problem. Have the phone re-flashed or replaced. It manifests by the Phone Book and Text Message manager not being able, ever to perform an initial sync although it will connect. When it drops the connection, your Ir connectivity has failed and you have to take the phone out of sight, and put back on sight for the Ir communication to re-establish.

Onboard IR adapters on older motherboards (Pentium MMX) may not work reliably. But a USB IR adapter would work. Oh but win 95 and USB don't really mix.

I have a
Windows ME, Microsoft Outlook XP, and XTNDConnect for T68i.

The IR works with sending backgrounds and .imy files to my phone. But when I tried to synchronize, it tried to open but this message showed up: "Unable to load default 'Contacts' folder. Please select a 'Contacts' folder."

What should I do? Help pls. I'm almost there to finish synchronizing...

My R4APackage is on its way- I'm downloading it right now - but I have the feeling it won't work too.

I have a Sony Ericsson T68i phone and a Dell Inspiron 8200 Laptop with built in IRDA running on Windows XP Professional.

The IR port works as is, default speeds.

I use Office XP (Outlook 2002) and the XTNDConnect Software with no troubles at all to synchronize.

One tip, use the Ericsson Modem Driver. My AT&T Service Provider has a download for using the phone as a modem but doesnt work correctly. Installed the Ericsson Driver downloaded from the Ericsson site solved this issue.
