Hi faithless,

I got ur pt. now. Those GSM wav will also shown as MS ACM 44kHz mono on GoldWave. So, i think ur alphaville might be GSM6.1 format.

btw, I found that quality of GSM6.1 44kHz is very close to IMA 44kHz Mono, with one third in size. GSM6.1 44KHz is definitely better than IMA 22kHz and again is smaller in size.

Hi faithless,
As I promised in my previous comment, I managed to upload quite a few Hindi songs to a website, from where you can download them. The site can be found at http://www.geocities.com/anishk7 I don't know how much hassle is it for you to convert these songs into .wav so don't worry if you couldn't do it all. Then another thing is that most of these songs are about 5 minutes long, so if it becomes too big files or any thing like that then it will be fine if you do only say the first one minute or so of each song. The sound quality of these songs are not that brilliant so if you could enhance the sound quality (loudness) of the ringtones in some way that will be great. Oops look some one said he will do me a favour and how demanding I am getting.
thanks in advance
Anish

@anish : Sorry but i couldn't make ringtones out of your mp3's cause the audio quality is very poor. Your mp3's are encoded at 16, 24 or 32 kbs which is disappointing when it comes to quality. Even when i tried to apply a dynamics effect (more volume) the result was aufull. If you are going to make wav ringtones from mp3's they must be at least encoded at 96-128 kbps.

@dane1 all of my new uploads will be in zip format.

@faithless1976
Thanks faithless I am happy you tried. So if I find same songs some where else is there any easy way I can check whether they are encoded at 96-128Kb before uploading to the site? I don't have any specilist software for that so what I am looking for is like say check the properties of the file or something like that.

@dane1 : yes i'm greek (an kai den afora to forum eimai ontos ellinas)

@anish: all you need is an mp3 player like WinAmp (http://www.winamp.com) when a song plays, the program shows you info about the encoding.
