@kakamega

For the wap profile, user & password = user

Cheers,

Steven.

On my T610, the username and password are set to WAP. Seems to work OK.

anyone got anywhere with removing all the vodafone live! branding? Or at least assigning your own shortcuts to the buttons on the front and side?

cheers
Chris

actually for the internet one you don't need username and password at all. just APN set to internet will get you going.

Refering to earlier posts. You do not have to use the Vodafone SMTP server. The one that you use with your email account should work. There may be some issues with authentication. The T68i appears to support authentication (mine works with my www.fastmail.fm account).

I was on Vodafone 20 and the internet and wap APN's were enabled by default. I am now on Vodafone Anytime 30 and all is still well.

I've tried those WAP data a/c settings and I still get 'GPRS parameters not supported'.

Any more ideas ?????? Anyone ???

PM'd you in case you're not watching.

Basically, I reckon you'vre set the data APN account for your POP3 email okay, but HAVE ALSO set that account for your wap browsing profile too - check whether this is so!

This is particularly easy to screw up on the P800 (different I know, I know) as it has a 'preferred' data account!

Checked it. APN a/c used for wap browsing is wap.vodafone.co.uk
user - user@vodafone.net pw - user.

I had a problem setting up my account so i emailed vodafone and this is what they repied i followed it step by step and it worked fine. All you need to do is change the incoming and outgoing server.

First you need to create a Data Account.

Go to Main menu
Highlight & Select Connectivity.
Highlight & Select Data Comms.
Highlight & Select Data Accounts
Highlight New Account & press Add
Highlight & Select GPRS data
Name account e.g Email or Internet
Now it should say APN - edit this & enter internet
User ID (edit) - enter web
Password (edit) - enter web
Save

Now go back to the Main Menu.
We now create the mail account.

Highlight & Select Messaging
Highlight & Select Email
Highlight & Select Options
Highlight & Select Edit account
Highlight New account & press Add
Enter an account name e.g My email.
Highlight & Select Connect Using & then highlight & select the data account created previously. Highlight & Select Protocol - select POP3 Highlight & Select Incoming Server & enter pop.vodafone.net Incoming port should already be set to 110. Highlight & Select Mailbox - your login username should be entered here. Highlight & Select Password - your login password should be entered here. Highlight & Select Outgoing server & enter send.vodafone.net Outgoing port should already be set to 25. Highlight & Select Email address & enter your full email address. Highlight & Select Download & select Headers & text or headers only (personal preference) Highlight & Select From name & enter what you would like mail recipients to see. The next 2 fields are customers personal preference (we don't need to worry about these) Highlight & Select Check interval & select off. Now press Save (top right button) This will take you back to the Edit account screen - press the arrow button. Highlight & Select Set account & select the account that has just been created. Press the arrow button & scroll up to send and receive

I hope this finally solves your problem.

I have only had my sim free T610 a few days and I am retrieving my emails fine through pop3 for my o2 account. I am however having some difficulty sending any replies. It connects to server and reads "sending mail" then send failed. Think the problems are the fault of the networks.
