The T610 only makes the dust/grime/fingermarks show up more as it is a nice shiny phone. To combat this I polish the plastic area with the cloth that came with it or a glasses cloth until there's no marks left and about every 2-3 days I go over the whole thing with a damp cotton bud and wipe it dry. What is confusing me here is the people all screaming there t610 collects more dust then other handsets.. The handset is plastic and thus conducts no static whatsoever so how it would attract more dust then any other handset bewilders me.. I can understand because of the black gloss finish and chrome plating that it would seem this way but i assure you, like a black car is hard to keep clean.. It only shows up more.. Working in SE's ELF/DOA only Australian department i know of the typical faults accossiated to this handset and believe me, dust in the joystick is not one of them..

The most common faults are Poor Signal Strenght, Freezing, LCD scrambled, Not Powering Up, sticky joystick, low volume, unable to adjust brightness/contrast...

But keep in mind these are within the first 30 day period of purchase and not powering up will often be related to battery/charger faults..

The T610 has been a disaster with ELF/DOA, only second to there T100 handsets.. But we still get less ELF/DOA then Nokia and Kyocera so its still a great manufacturer..

This is according to Australia's SE policy...

Early Life Failure Warranty (30days from date of purchase - replaced with brand new handset - handset only)

Dead On Arrival Warranty (8 months from stores date of purchase and not sold - replaced with brand new unit)

Anything after this period is covered under 12 months of Manufacturer warranty (repair/refurb replace)

"Dead On Arrival Warranty (8 months from stores date of purchase and not sold - replaced with brand new unit)"

They put them just like Nokia with (I think) the 8110 for removing finger tips. On the black part and on the screen it's very necessary, but considere it as a gift...

I'd rather have a phone that works properly with bluetooth instead of a nice little antistatic cloth !, SE could have spent the money saved on NOT putting in a dish cloth to improve the s/ware

(moan over)
