I really am not hardcore SE (not fussed on the company if truth were known, although i do like the P900)

Although some may argue that its not strictly a smartphone... the XDA 2 (continuing my trend of mentioning it at least once a day!) reportedly has a better camera than the P900 (although they just looked lighter and unsaturated) so maybe that should be in the list (there are mentions and comparisons on this forum)... and it takes them in full screen, which is around twice the size of any other phone mentioned, to increase its appeal that little bit more

Here's a great low budget 2 Megapixel Digi Cam with BT capabilities.. The BT transfer is kinda slow but you can take a hell lot of pics on the road and simply transfer what you choose to to your P900.. I think I might pic one up... Sony also has a few Digi Camcorders that have BT capabilities.. There around $1k USD, but I'm sure there are other manuf that have similar items... I played around with one in a local store, but it never dawned on me that I could use it with my phone... I'm guessing SE has a profile that can suit those Sony Digi Camcorders..

But now I think about it those camcorders come with a digi cam snapshot feature.. The camcorder snapshot pix have improved tremendously at least 10x better then what any mobile phone can produce now. So its a 2 in one deal.. The camcoder was tiny as hell too.. It has 0 lux and can fit into my pocket... Moreover, it still has those Sony bonuses like Firewire and what not... Ok that's it, I'm gonna buy one now....

Here's a pic of the standalone digi cam with BT:

Here's a link of the must have Sony digi camcorder... BT enabled - Especially checkout the Digital Still Memory features on it... Stick your memduo in its adapter and have the snapshot saved to the stick directly..

I'm going X-Mas shopping early for 'myself'.... Sweet....

Sounds great. Now they have to just wedge it into a phone somehow.

I give it a couple of years...

if only all SE cam-phones would have a built-in flash, then that would definitely solve the poor quality of limited lighting pics

The thing is, camera phones are the sort of thing you take everywhere, as opposed to a digicam which you probably don't. The beauty of them is that you can whip them out, and take a quick picture when the need arises, especially with phones like the T610 that has the camera button on the side. Quality may not be great, but you can still see the general gist of it, right?
That's why i like having a camera phone.

Posted by Bigfeet(I think):Unless one wants to take MMS pics then don't bother buying a mobile phone as a subsitute for a digi cam.. However, I do have hope that a lot of the issues can be cleared through firmware revisions. The hardware capabilities of the actual camera isn't limited to taking better pics per se, but the firmware seems to have a stronghold on it for now.. I would have to say this camera is comperable to a cheap computer USB digi cam.

Am I correct to understand that several people here are complaining that a integrated camera is not delivering digital quality images? Is this what I am reading? I wonder why my Sony P-10 can't make phone calls or wash my clothes. Maybe it is because it is only a camera and not a telephone or a clothes washer. The camera that is included on the P800 and P900 as well as other phones are there for spur of the moment snap shots, or quick vid moments. They are not meant to be a full blown replacement for a quality digital still/video camera. Really, is complaining about the obvious going to make our pictures any better? No. Use some common sense people.

Nothin' like replying 3 months too late hey !

Whoever it was has well and truly missed the boat and deserves to struggle beneath 100ft waves of ice cold, but shark infested waters, wearing a deflated rubber ring and lead slippers, before being rescued by a perforated dingy...

The P900 camera sucks indeed! pity it took 3 months to notice hey !

(and none of that, "oh I've only had the phone a few days"... we can all see the date of the last post... the trouble this topic caused in differences of opinion resulting in continuous repitition of the same garbage means we really can't go back there again!)
