As far as anybody knows, nobody makes the 2x128 card in a Duo version - only the full size Memory Stick.

Are you telling us that there will never be a MS Duo more than 128Mb?
How do you know what technology is round the corner?
Intel were pushed to cope with 90 Mhz a few years ago. They are now upto in excess of 3Ghz.
There will be a MS Duo of more than 128Mb but the technology is not there yet.

There is no such thing as an original Memory Stick larger than 128MB. Full stop. Period. The end. Deal with it. Get over it. Accept it. Now and forever. This is an absolute, unavoidable limitation of the Memory Stick design. It is not, has never been and will never be possible to make a Memory Stick device with more than 128MB of address space. Got it?

Never. Never. Never ever. A million times never.
There is not, there cannot be, there will never be, at any time from now until the heat death of the universe, a Memory Stick (or Duo) larger than 128MB. It is impossible to travel faster than the speed of light and it is impossible to make a Memory Stick bigger than 128MB.
The obvious logical corollary is: a device that accepts only Memory Stick (and not Memory Stick Pro) will never, never, never ever, a million times never, from now until the heat death of the universe, be able to access a memory card larger than 128MB.
This is what Memory Stick Pro is for.
You're welcome to quote me in the FAQ.
Oh, and Santa Claus isn't real.

peregrinum, as much as what you say is correct for now you cannot say what will come later. Ok you can assume it wont happen, but would you bet your mortgage on it?

actually in theory, it "IS" possible to travel faster than the speed of light. We just dont have the technology to do so, nor a way of measuring. But by the numbers (in theory) it is possible. Something about white light turning blue as well was mentioned, i dont remember why though.

Sure I can, Morba. Watch me.
There will never be a Memory Stick larger than 128MB. There cannot be a Memory Stick larger than 128MB. This is a fundamental limitation of the Memory Stick interface. It is simply impossible.
See? That was easy.
It's strangely fascinating, how this issue keeps attracting people with a bizarre inability to comprehend simple statements of fact. And kind of fun.
