Only 02 WAP GPRS is free until Januvary 30th and the Data GPRS service of 02 called MobileWeb is not free.
Could you please tell me how you found this out? I just want to be sure before running up a bill for using WAP GPRS..

Thanks,

William.

@William
Welcome to Esato

Don't worry you won't get a bill for using O2 Wap GPRS See here and click the link on this page to get the auto setup message

@Jose
How did you do that? Could you be more specific please. When did you took the contract and when did you contact them. Did you contacted them after one month?

There appears to be much conflicting advice here!

When I went into CPW, they said that O2 won't allow you change for 6 months, so 3 months sounds a good proposition in light of this...

It would appear that O2 need very much to clarify the situation for ALL of its customers... different people get different things from O2 and their representatives...

There is only one problem I can see from all of this potential complaining, and that is that the service providers will eventually stop offering such reduced prices on phones or even abolish the option to reduce after a set period all together, forcing the whole 12 months... whilst this may not bother some, just remember that those of you who want to re-purchase in the future may end up paying somewhat higher prices for their contract phone, though hopefully competition between them will help keep prices down regardless...

Unfortunately, there is only one way of truly finding out whether you will be able to reduce the tariff straight away, or within 3 months, or whatever... but this method involves quite an expensive risk !

quick question people, pls clarify; to get the p900 free, all i have to o is go to a '02' shop and request the phone free on the o2 400 tariff @ £45/mth? Will the p900 be O2-branded in any way, or is it the generic/simfree p900? And will i have to go to the flagship store on Oxford street in London to see if they have any stock? Thanks in advance for your ansers

Anish,

Well what i did was i got the phone on wednesday 3rd December.

I called up o2 customer services on Friday 5th December and asked if i could downgrade my plan to £15 a month, they complained that i cannot downgrade within 3 months as i got the phone free.

Then i asked them where on the Terms and condition it actually states that i have to stay on the same plan for the first 3 months ? and they couldnt provide it. Then the lady said that she would do it for me and will be activated within 24 hours.

Today monday i contacted Customer services again and asked to confirm my phone plan and they said that they cannot do it as i have to be on the same plan for 3 months, then they mentions that i have to pay something as i got the phone for free and then I asked them again where in the Terms and conditions it states that i have to pay a penalty if i change plans within the first 3 months? and then i said to them that I was just ringing back to confirm my details from last friday and then they finally said yes its already been done for you as of next month you will be paying £15 for the contract so they are going to deduct £60 as i have to pay the next month is advance.

Its a bit of a battle to get through the customer services, but its possible to do done.

Gud Luck
