I managed to fix mine by removing the bottom 2 screws, prying the phone gently appart (plastic tools!) by leveling on each side of the connector gently, moving the sides up/down to settle them in, and screwing the thing together again. perfect now.

did the tapping, and tried pushing it in. Those of you with the screwdriver, at which side did you insert it in to pop it out?
