I hate that you cant go into the draft box on messages when the flip is closed and edit messages that you havent finished.

Also not being able to input contacts with the flip closed.

Other things that annoy me, apart from those mentioned already are when i view a video clip, why does it always go back to the top of the list when i tap the back button? And then update the list, each and every time, which takes ages. Also the same with sound files, really gets on my nerves! Not enough internal memory is also a big problem, keep getting a message coming up.

You can add contacts with the flip closed, just put the number then dial and hang up straight away, it shuld say if you want to add to contacts. Hope a future firmware upgrade sorts out at least some of our gripes.

@ Kevwood - I think e-mail deletion off the server should be my call not my P900. There are times when I need to check if a certain email has been received so that when I get back to the office I can respond to it. Outlook has an option for "store mail on server". Dloading emails from ISP I can understand - but why should it delete an email received on my corporate mail server?

@ wildcard - I have been down that route... for Gripe 10. You can select which shortcuts you want to appear within the flip closed option - BUT!!... the list is limited - I cant select any apps that I want to appear... eg. ALARM/TIME!

Secondly..... why do they put a Communicorder in the shortcuts when all i have to do is click on the Camera button on the side to activate the Cam!? Same goes for Internet Shortcuts... Isnt that just a waste of space in the flip closed app list?

Perhaps the powers that be at SE are reading this thread and can provide this functionality in the next firmware upgrade.

If you just want to check what e-mails you've recieved without deleting them from your mail account, configure the messages application to only download headers. This is actually the default setting I believe. This way you will be able to see the sender name and email subject of all your emails without actually downloading them. It is also a lot quicker than downloading all your emails. When you check your inbox again, all those emails will still be present. Even if you click one one of those email headers to download and view the entire message, the email will still not be deleated from your account. However, if you delete email headers from your phone, it will automatically delete those messages from your account. I often use my phone and my computer to check email. I haven't really had any problems. If I find that I have an email with a very large attatchement when I download the header, I will simply leave the header on the phone untill I have logged on to my computer. At that point once I've read the email on my computer, I will then delete the header from the phone. I also think it would be nice if you could tell the phone to leave your account alone regardless of what you do on the phone itself.

However, just remember that downloading email headers or even entire emails onto your phone will not result in those emails being deleted from your email account. This will only happen if you manually delete those emails from your phone. If your ISP has some policy where they automatically delete emails as soon as they are downloaded, thats a seperate matter. The phone can't do anything about that.

did anyone come up with any ideas on how to manage the Time / Alarm functions in flip closed mode? Also any ideas how to use the calculator in flip closed?

Anyone know of any apps written to address this perhaps?

I came across this app from epocware.... it still doesnt sort out my main requirement (time app on flip closed) but it allows you to assign all the "useless" buttons in flip closed mode to any app of your choice.... very nice!!!!

so the things that piss this person off about their p900 are things that can be solved with the little knowledge of actually being able to use the phone lmao.

any way p900 may look good with flip on but functionality is suppressed way to much! i for one find the virtual flip easy to use.
