Drop it in Alcohol?! I think it's too late to save me now. The phone seems to be very dry now. It's been 2 days. All phone functions are working (I can make/receive calls, speed-dial etc). However, the LCD does not display any text or graphics. I think I'm going to order a replacement LCD screen and see if that will do the trick. What will I do until then...?

He's right alcohol is the best thing to use, before fitting the new screen put some on a cotton swab and run it over all the componets, this way it will make sure there is no deposits left..... but make sure it has evaportated before switching it back on....
Good luck

Yes alcohol will expel any water or conductive salt residues. Being non electrolytic, alcohol will not damage any component in the device. The screen on a p900 is pretty much airtight i believe, so no water will have found its way in. Your best bet is to swab the display circutry with cotton wool and liberal amounts of pure isopropyl alcohol (or rubbing alcohol), which you can buy at any chemist/ drugstore. Dont be scared, from what you have detailed in your posts so far, it seems highly likely that this method will work.

When a bad thing like that happens, the first thing to do is to remove the battery and the Sim card as many of you know. Then let it dry for at least 3 days. I know I know... and support that with occasional hair dryer support. Only then switch it back on and ckeck. You want to make sure all moisture has evaporated. That advice is from someone who takes his computer keyboard apart, puts the plastic pieces in the dishwasher and then puts it back together after a day. I also did entire keyboards with the cord removed, but let them dry for a whole week. Works like a charm and they look like brand new. Don't r

That's good advise Residentevil. I only wish I had done just that when my P900 landed in the lake. Unfortunately, my LCD screen is still not displaying anything other than the back light. I have ordered a replacement LCD screen. I hope that will correct the problem. An expensive learning lesson this has been for me

Did you try the alcohol cleaning?

Yes, I did the alcohol clean and let that dry for a few hours. It didn't seem to help the display. I've still got only a back light and no colour, graphics or text. Everything else is working

A P900 without the LCD is not very helpful. I'll keep checking every 12-24hrs for any change. Cheers...
