Well if you want to know the Real Deal on why Orange had problems with shipping the P900..
It's a combination of factors.
First notice that most other suppliers had plenty of P900's. But at Orange they were hard to get unless you were a new business customer and not upgrading.
Well there are two main reasons: First, Sony Ericsson couldn't keep up with the demand. These phones are selling even more than the P800's, it seems everybody wants one, and if you can remember in the early days of the P800 they couldn't keep the production up to the demand for a long time.
The other reason is that Orange got really, really upset with Sony Ericsson for releasing the P900 less than 12 months after they started delivering the P800 to Orange in meaningful quantities. This caused a lot of trouble for Orange, with the always demanding users who wanted an immediate upgrade the new device.. So they delayed ordering phones from Sony Ericsson with the result that when they finally did get around to order serious quantities the order books were full.
