> Using the Sony Ericsson K700 with an Apple Mac

I had success using Jools method above...eagerly awaiting iSynch update and hoping all day event will be compatible as all my shift times at work are in iCal using all day events. I suppose I could work around this but it's a matter of principle!
As far as connecting to the internet with GPRS via Bluetooth I downloaded the scripts at
http://www.taniwha.org.uk to my iBook. I'm on Orange in the UK, and managed to connect by following the ReadMe file exactly, and selecting the Sony Ericsson GPRS CID4 script. Not sure if it's the optimum connection but it works.

@Geoff:
Unfortunately all day events will never work on phones such as K700, T610, Z600 etc. because they're not a feature of the phone. Unless SonyEricsson addresses this in a future firmware update we won't be able to sync the Macs all day events.
The only option is to give the events a time. It's not very convenient but works.

Hi--
I wanted to post a reply to this but hit the wrong button and started a new topic. Anyway...
Great information here about Apple Support for the K700i.
I used to own an SE T68i. With a Bluetooth connection to my T68i activated, I could use Apple's Address Book to send and receive SMS text messages. With the K700i, I've been able to send and receive files between my Mac and the phone. BUT I can't send or receive SMS texts anymore. Can anyone help me out? An currently using System 10.2.8. Are there any updates around that might help?
Many thanks.

@IndoInk
You will probably need to upgrade to 1.3.X and use the newer BT upgrades as well as the new iSync 1.4 for things to even begin to work.
Cheers.

@sapporobaby:
Nothing yet... I was really hoping it would've been released by now especially as that ThinkSecret report suggested the update was virtually ready to go...
iPhoto v4.0.2 was released last night so maybe Apple are in a software releasing mood! Let's hope!

This posting on the site has been a great help. I was trying to decide whether to go for Nokia 6230 or Sony K700. I'm in Italy so phones don't come free, or there abouts as in the UK so the right phone is important. My phone is waiting for me at home so "tonight, I will be mostly playing with my new toy". Secondly I'm a powerbook user (G4 17") so syncing all and that goes with it was important. The Nokia phones always seem very anti mac, ie PC Suite. So the k700 seemed a good choice.
My question is anyone got and good tips for starting off on the right foot with the phone on the mac? I use the entourage address book so anyone got any tips there?
Thanks to all who have made posts, it answered loads of my questions.

I've tried the methods described, and found my K700i successfully.... but there are still some problems.
When I sync my phone to my powerbook, not all contacts are synced. and another problem is that say one of my appointments on my iCal starts at 2pm, it will show all the info on my K700i, just the time is incorrect (4am on my phone, yet all the other info are the same.)
Am I the only one with the problem??
Please HELP!!

In iSync check to see which set of Contacts you have selected to sync with the phone. You can define which groups of addresses are sent.
The time problem is due to your Mac and phone being set to different time zones. Check the Date and Time Preference pane against the "Settings > Time & date > Time zone" section in your phone. Make sure they're they same!
