I think many of you are missing my point:
Yes, many.

I am not saying SE shouldn't release an upgrade; I am saying SE should release a better upgrade than this. This is a piss poor upgrade. This is more of a slight improvement.
Yes, precisely it is. So arent you missing the point?
SE would definitely release a better update, slowly. SE would not stop developing.
When you find a upgrade suitable for you, you buy it. Else you wait.
Why the hell are you soooo pissed off????
Well, I'm completely missing the point

I think SE should save the minor upgrades for a more substantial release, or allow us, as P900 owners, to update the software components of the device.
There you go... so that's what its all about.
So are SE supposed to pay your bills coz you bought a expensive phone from them. Did you buy any support or upgrade license from them to allow you for free hardware upgrades?
I guess not. Software updates are more or less available (tho with some glitches)... and none of the P910 additions have been proved to be software updates yet.
So why dont you want SE to release minor updates. If they save it for future, how will the other users who are planning to buy now get a better phone? very selfish. very mean I would say.

No, I'm not kidding you.
Its the way businesses work. Companies should and normally will provide older products with bugs fixes for critical problems.. and that is as far as it goes, normally. As far as SE, the P900 is old hat.
If SE fix all bugs and offer firmware upgrades for P900 to implement the new functionality in the P910.. they aren't going to get many upgraders.. ( I don't think there will be many in the first place because P910 isn't that much of a jump).
Barring poor Mac support - what does not work in the P900? What critical bugs are there in the P900 that stop you from using the phone at all?
I'm sorry if you don't like it, but thats the way it is, and you'll have to put up with it.
You expect microsoft to offer windows 98 users a stream of bug fixes when XP was released? No, and it didn't happen.. only for critical bugs. Same for Apple - Jaquar -> Panther etc etc... I could go on with more examples, its the same principles.
You expected SE to give P800 firmware upgrades to UIQ 2.1? It didn't happen did it!!!

No, I personally like the P910's appearance much better than the P900.
So there's another valid improvement

So what you are saying is that minor software improvements and bug fixes should be addressed in future device releases instead of patches and updates?
I am not saying a want Symbian 8 or UIQ 3 or anything like that... I just want the device I have to work flawlessly. Nokia can do it - I have had much fewer problems with my Nokia phones than I ever have with SE. I guess it is my fault for buying a SE, but they are so damn sexy - for a phone anyway.
Now that I look back, I think the P900 was a piss-poor upgrade to the P800. Sure, the screen was better (and from what I heard it needed to be) and the housing is better looking, but for what? Just to be newer? Bullshit. This isn't evident just in this case. I guess this is just a good example of it. As stated earlier, software companies do it all the time.

The only thing that would piss me off is changing every Px00 to Pxx0:-D
I like my p900 as it is. I've got no intentions on upgrading unless maby to a p1000 when the time comes.

I never said these weren't VALID improvements... I said there aren't enough VALID IMPROVEMENTS TO WARRANT AN UPGRADED MODEL.
Regarding the bug fixes, that is silly. Yes, I expect something I purchase to work. Maybe SE pulled one over on me when I bought the P900. Maybe I was tricked. I don't honestly think so, but maybe.
Maybe SE said, "We'll get the P900 working to a level of, oh, maybe 95% - then we'll release the P910. That'll get 'em! They'll HAVE to upgrade to the P910 if they want to other 5% of those problems fixed!"
That may be business, but it isn't GOOD business. If all they are concerned with is money, SE can kiss my ass. If they are concerned with releasing progressive mobile communications technology, that is another story.
All I am saying, in my opinion, this isn't progressive enough to warrant a new model release. That is all I have said, and I am going to say. Now I'm just kicking a dead horse.

@richy240
Apple have something similar with iPods... compare this to SE P910.
Apple have just released new iPods...
- increased battery
- more efficient menus
- scroll wheel + buttons
- decreased price (but not really... they've taken away the Dock on the 20gigger.
Evolution, not revolution. Just like P900 -> PP910
No doubt they'll be plenty of upgraders.. even though the G(eneration)4 iPods aren't that different from the G3s...

I'm Still missing it...
So, @richy
What kind of software update that should have been provided free to P900 users has not been provided but included in P910
Also, talking about P800 -> P900, what kind of upgrade on P800 would have given it a 64k screen and a better housing (and not to mention weight and whatever else that changed)
For a moment, put aside P910... and then try to justify what it is that you want it in P900 and can be given to you free.
Yes, software companies always do it... but no one gives away win XP as a patch for win 2k.... whilst patches for win 2k are still being released.

I fail to see how anyone can go SO excited over an updated phone model in a positive or negative manner. Such anger towards the P910 must be just a symptom of something else. Anyone like to come into my consulting room?
