Anyone with an O2 firmware upgrade problem please email
O2DataSupport@O2.com
I've just got a reply - it appears that someone at O2 is looking at the problem! The more ppl email hopefully the more likely O2 might do something about it...

"I am looking into this at present at what stage does the Sony Ericsson site give these errors? I have attempted to replicate and get to download the 12 MB .exe file. I have not attempted to fully download but I am curious as to whether you can get past this point?
When I logged into the site I selected support and then the K700i, after that I selected the Sony Ericsson update and was asked to confirm my OS and that I have enough space on my machine, sync cradle attached etc
I then get the license agreement which I accept and I then get the file transfer window.
Please Advise"

I am about to return my K700i to O2 tomorrow. The number of problems I have is unreal.
It is one of the original batch of handsets, and it does the following;
1. Txt messages won't come in (well known)
2. The phone book decides to delete number enteries at random, BUT although you cannot see them, or use them, they are there, because if that person calls you there name comes up on the screen.
3. When you put the phone into the car kit (genuine SE kit) the 'charging' splash screen comes up and then the phone freezes. You need to remove the battery to reset the phone.
4. The bluetooth connection is iffy at times.
5. AND THE BEST BIT...the SE Service Centres cannot update the phone. I have had it into 2 seperate centres, for flashing to the latest software, to try and sort the issues, and quote, " for some reason the phone will not accept an update, it will only accept the original software version"
So I best be getting a new handset or WW3 will start in Glasgow at around 1pm tomorrow.

For the past 2months i've also been having a mind-numbingly annoying problem where alot of the time txts are arriving to my phone on average, a day late, sometimes 2 days late. i've called O2 so many times and they just keep bullshi**ing me. I'm on O2 Online Pay As You Go with K700i. NONE of my friends have this problem and its pissing me off so much cos the entire reason i've been with O2 for the last 4yrs is for the txt messaging. I thought i was the only one with this problem but obviously there's you guys at Esato with it to. I know it's logical to say it is a problem with O2, but do you think it is a problem with O2 that only occurs with K700i? Cos i cant understand why none of my friends on O2 online don't have the same problem. Either way, i've thrown my K700i at the phone a number of times cos of this. What a bloody pain in the arse.
