The SE claim of 400 hours can easily be duplicated. But bear in mind that this is to be done in IDEAL conditions. Which means that the signal received, on both GPRS and GSM are always full. And don't do anything with your P910 after turning it on. Just leave it alone for the next 400 hours.

An apparent bad battery might be caused by applications that run in the background.
On my P900 I can squeeze around 3 days out it thanks to Sman.
Load sman, create a snapshot with nothing running and in the main menu check that 'flush on flip' and 'force task shutdown' is checked. When closing the flip sman then kills background tasks freeing up memory and power hungry processor cycles.
It works a treat for me...
Still haven't found any P900 screen brightness utility yet. this is where I'm sure the biggest power saving can be made...

The battery claim may well be "ideal" conditions. But look at Motos and Nokias. My motorola V600 makes some claim like 300 or so hours but I get prob about a week of "normal" use out of it. I can live with that but a claim of 400 hours and then lucky if you get 36 hours? Come on SE thats taking the pi*s!!!!
Everyone knows that the claims for battery time etc are based on "ideal" conditions and allow some leeway, but SE claim isnt anywhere close!! What would happen if SE started making Jumbo Jets, can you imagine "no problem with the fuel consumption you'll get over 3000 miles out of that", prob be lucky to get off the runway if their estimate on the P910i is anything to go by!!

I get about 2..3 days out of my P900. I think the batt life is very good on this phone considering everything.
Battery Technology did not make much progress in the last 6 years. There is just a physical limit. Features increase, but Batt tech is lagging.

Do you think that application stored on Memory Stick consumes more CPU power ( -> Battery) than staying in Internal memory?
Also, do you think using a high capicity memory stick (512Mb, 1G) consumes more CPU power than a smaller capicity memory stick?
I'm not sure, just wild guess.

The P900 is capable of 400+hours, but you have to remember that this is with flip closed. With flip on, the phone have to go through a different methos and uses more battery and of course, the screen is 320 by whatever. When flip closed, it is reduced.

As far as I know, the more the fone has features on it, the faster it's battery drains . . . This has been noted almost with all colored branded fones to date !

I have a p910i handset and my battery is barely surviving the day. i make 2 to 3 calls per day ( max 5 min duration). i also use my handy day every other hour just to check my tasks and appointments, otherwise i look for a contact once or twice and believe me my battery signal drops at naked eye. im a moderate user however i think we have a serious battery problem.id understand if a 200 standby hours were not totally reachable but at least id want my handset not to run dead by the end of the day. Ive tried all the tips i read in this forum and still no change though ive had that handset fo 3 weeks. it pretty sad cos im in love with it, but it keeps on decievng me. Any new tip, any solution before i attempt at selling it?

I would pop back to where you purchased it, mine was that bad until I moaned and they changed the battery, now I get around 2-3 days from it. If they are reluctant point out the standby times etc and drop into the conversation about the "trade descriptions act" and speaking to your local trading standards.
Other than that sell it and get something better, or speak to SE directly and point them in the direction of this thread!!
