I am curious of what happened after you guys pushed Sony Ericsson with this issue. Any luck?
I too suffer from the very same problem.
Hi,
noticed you are from Sweden... is it possible for you to call up the head office of SE and file a complain about this issue?
Cheers

Hi
I'm from Portugal, I use my P900 without cover and use a lot CiCJot (most applications in portuguese).
I believe my reboot period increased a bit from 3-4 days since I use HandyDay, which allows cleaning of inactive programs.
I thougth the problem could be related with some memory "fragmentation" that would render free space unusable - just a guess!! I'm sorry to read that memory programs don't help
I tried Tracker (Handango) before HandyDay and it had a "memory defrag" (with some other name) that I thougth was helpfull...
I contacted SE 2 weeks after I bought the equipment (04March) and I received a reply with a sugestion for a visit to the Technical Centre near my residence (80 km away...). A phone call was enough to convince me not to pay the visit...
I'll follow this thread eagerly!
Hope to hear from SE people!

Hi,
have been following this thread for a while, it's so hilarious. I seriously doubt SE will address an issue that is easily solved by a 're-boot' while, e.g., in the can. I don't mean to say that the phone should not be more stable - all compuer systems should be - but a re-boot every 3-6 days hardly qualifies as a serious defect. Just my $0.02 ...

Geeez... again I have to say this... have you heard of any T28/T39/T68/T610/T630/K700i owners having to reboot their phones every 3 days? So are you trying to say that SE should ADVERTISE THAT "SONY ERICSSON'S MOST EXPENSIVE FLAGSHIP PHONE, THE P900 AND THE LATEST AND GREATEST P910I WILL ONLY WORK GREAT AND FLAWLESS IN FLIP REMOVED MODE IF YOU REBOOT YOUR PHONE AT LEAST ONCE EVERY 2 DAYS"??????
Shouldn't SE put this up in their Ads for these 2 flagship models since as what you claimed a REBOOT can EASILY resolve the issue? I am sure a lot of potential buyers who prefers using handwriting input than keypad will IMMEDIATELY turn away and head for either a Palm or PPC based smartphone instead when they read this nice and honest Ad!!!
Edit: Oh, I forgot to mention, I owned all the above Ericsson/Sony Ericsson models and that shows just how much I supported Ericsson/Sony Ericsson. But spending more than $1200 euros for 2 flahship models only to learn that it's advantages over S60 based phones is completely flawed aint a happy experience!

It's still really funny to see people worked up over an issue that might occupy less than 0.04% of one's time (assuming a reboot every two days or so, which in my case takes about 55 s). I don't argue that 100.00% reliability should be achievable for a p9x0, but 99,96% isn't that bad. As I said, I definitely do not know anybody that couldn't deal with being not being reachable on their cell phones for about a minute every other day.
I guess I have just spent about a minute typing this ...

Geezz... are you an employee of for SE? How much do they pay you to say that a flaw on their phone is "acceptable"?

I get this every so often all I do is turn off the P900 then back on again and the problem is fixed.

Hi steve,
yes, that's the reason why I am asking SE to fix this (cos accepting that this is NORMAL is not viable considering this is the most high end and most expensive SE phones of all). If they market their P900/P910i to have handwriting input capability, then it should not be crippled till one have to reboot every few days

This flaw on their P900/P910i has been around for more than a year and I am sure SE already knew about it... but why can't they fix it...
For all who are following this thread and are facing this same issue as many of us P900/P910i users around the world, there is still hope... but this hope does not come from SE themselves, but from a wonderful company that finally give us an alternative solution, albeit we may have to pay for it...INTRODUCING... Decuma OnSpot 3.0 for UIQ

And it should be out before end of this year according to the developers
http://www.decuma.com/pages/products/latin_recognition.html
And here's a review of a pre-released version of OnSpot for UIQ:
http://www.symbianone.com/ind[....]ent&task=view&id=973&pt_show=1
I am beta testing for them currently, and for everyone's info, 9 days already and my P910i is still going on strong w/o the need to reboot whatsoever... SE, if you are looking at this thread, talk to Decuma and maybe for your P1000 you can incorporate OnSpot into it rather than your current buggy solution...

@adnhk1,
No, I do not work for SE (actually, more likely you work for a competitor, they way you harp on this issue).
I think we have already spend enough time just typing these messages (I assume that you also belong to the class of humans that have a mximum of two arms) to cover a lifetime's worth of reboots of our phones.
Whether a flaw is acceptable or not is - especially in a case like this one - really more in the eye of the beholder. I for one like the phone, but find it has plenty of flaws that in my opinion need addressing before one that causes at most a 0.04% drop in availabilty (then, fortunately, I have the luxury to turn my phone off once in a while and I know that not everybody is in this position).
Cheers and Season's Greeting!

Decuma onspot looks interesting, how do you like it?
I restart my phone one's a day because i've noticed that RAM is decreasing during the day, i use S-man and flushing.
I always use hand writing input and write a lot, i haven't understand that this causes the problem?
I'ts not good that SE not can solve this problem but i can't say it's a big problem for me, just a little bit irritating.
However i'm very interested of Decuma onspot, what do you think about it? Can i get a beta from them to test it?
