zyavar: Good luck getting your money back, Paypal have no grounds to withhold your money especially since you have the tracking number for it although I guess they could claim they don't know exactly what you posted. I'm appalled someone would rip you off in such a blatant way and you have no protection!

dellxp4: What colour is the 6260?

Unfortunately it looks all too easy to rip other people off these days.

A colleague of mine at work bought a camcorder off a guy selling through the 'second hand' section of amazon.co.uk. He transferred money to this guy's Nationwide bank account, and the guy never sent the goods.

Nationwide wouldn't give out any information about this guy's account details (he closed the account immediately anyway) as my colleague didn't have a crime reference number.

So my colleague went to the police and they wouldn't give him a crime reference number because "it was a civil matter, not a criminal matter". I don't agree with this, because the guy had fraudulently obtained money, without intending to supply goods!!

No-one will help my colleague who has lost nearly £300! Amazon have been totally unhelpful too and now my colleague has pretty much given up... No wonder the "reported crime" figures are going down!!!
