Just curious.... Wanted to ask two questions
1. What if before you get to activate the lock the thief is smart enough to uninstall all user applications ( a SMART THIEF ) or gives a master reset.
2. After the lock is activated can the thief go for a master reset or some firmware upgrade which automatically goes for a master reset thing.... That way he would get rid of the application causing this issue.... That again would be a job of SMART THIEF with integrated high tech knowledge....
I am impressed with the application and the cost is also worth it.... but just wanted to know hitches involved in it.... as to how much can i depend on this application.
You cant depend on any application, its more something to use in hope, why do you install an alarm in your home? Its usually in the hope it will deter theives, but it doesn't always.
If you genuinely lose your phone & a kind person finds it, that would be handy

Oh so this application is for a Kind person.... not for thief’s....

After seeing a P910i lying without a owner a kind person might also turn up to be a SMART THIEF..... and if he has been to this thread i am sure he would first do a master reset before he gets to use it for any purpose.....

Now that secret of Secure phone is out why don’t we think of an application which when installed verifies your DNA and autolocks the phone for secured access.... or have an inbuilt hardware locater which tracks the movement of your phone via satellite so that you can catch up with it using a simple GPS positioning software installed in your PC....

Wow Makes me want to have a Pxxx again.
Shame you can't with standard phones.
It reminds me of those new cars that text/call you if they have been stolen

@dave_uk
Entirely the opposite. I was just wondering if he (or someone else who is connected to the developers) could ask if they could give us Esato members special prices/rebates. That is, since there are a lot of us here showing interest in their product.

I think that if you have your phone locked on SIM change that stops them using it, but anyone determined will simply get the phone flashed.
however it will still ask for the Password after flashing I know because Carphone Warehouse flashed mine and had to wait until I came back to the shop before they could test the flash as I had altered the lock number.
don't know if there is a full flash that would delete that?

I could bypass the program without master reset but im not going to say how.
a clue: Epoc file manager ( everyone clever with a P9xx will understand right now

Has anybody managed to get the trial version to lock the phone on the ::LOCK command? The s60 version functions as required...The uiq version doesn't though!Do you need to purchase this programme for full functionality?

@wiggs..Tried v1.44 on p900 and 910.Makes me wonder if the software requires purchase before it functions appropriately. It works wonders on my s60...And it's an excellent app. What problems were apparent, when you used v1.4?Cheers.
