High end is a geographically relative term. In uk, K700 is an ok phone when in india it is a very high end phone. Its a question of affordablity.

High- end means phones are generally better quality than others in the same class.
Sony Ericsson is fortunate in that although they are not selling as many as the other manufacturers, the phones that they do sell, people are prepared to pay that little bit more for because they are built better and generally have higher specifications.
I think this is called Average Revenue per Unit or ARU. SE's ARU is higher than other manufacturers.

dont mean to be picking you out but, the K700 is a Peice of F***ing S**t!!!!! cant beleive i brought the thing, now that im stuck with it for 2 years im trying to convince myself it has some decent things... the build quality is shocking, the joystick is a joke, and hte battery cover on mine feels dodge after 2 weeks. I was always a nokia fan, and after this i know why, just wish nokia would put a decent res on their phones it was the only reason i choose the K7 and regretfuly

I can't believe you are that disappointed. To me the the build quality is excellent, the joystick is precise, in all the phone deliveres.
If you were always a nokia fan, and after this top-notch K700 you still know why, you should go back to your operator's store and negotiate over another phone because you will be unhappy for the next 2 years to come.

@aus_online. If my phone was as bad as what you say yours is I would take it back and ask for another. All of my handsets have been fine so far apart from a small bug on a T610 I have which was fixed.
The joystick on the K7 is a bit weird anyway IMO as it isn't as user friendly as the peg-type you find on the T610.

beleive me, i wish i could exchange it, however i know that isnt possible, the thing that leads me to poor build quality and dissapointment is the joystick... seems to be the root of all evil.
i will admit it does have an awsome screen! the other things that got me angry was the fact you cant turn loudspeaker on with the click of 1 button.
maybe i was expecting more as the best nokia i had was a mere 6610, so by getting a high class SE, expectations were high

I want to see more PDA phones. It's about time a successor to the P910i is introduced. Preferably supporting 3G.
The days when Nokia and Motorola were cool are long gone if you ask me.
