Sony is evil?

http://www.wirelesssoftware.info/show1news.php/380.html

P800 could have been the perfect phone to have... Too bad it's being produced by Sony (MS Duo) and Ericsson (bad developer support)...

Btw, has anyone seen this little thingy:

Oh yeah, as for the MPEG recording stuff, on Nokia 7650 it can only do 160 x 120 clips with about 10 fps. I don't think the P800 version will be more powerful (probably just more expensive ).

Funny how people consider MMC and SD as "standards" when they rival each other, and not all devices use both, they are NOT interoperable, and are still expensive!

At LEAST the MS Duo and MS are compatible, the Duo can use an adapter to be used by standard MemStick devices like the Clie or other Sony products.

If MMC and SD are "standards", can I stuff my MMC into the Palm's SD slot? Not all SD devices can be used in SD slots! What kind of standardization is that???? That's dumb.

I think $100 for the 128MB MStick is pretty reasonable. Not cheap, but at least it's not outrageous.

MMC is a standard, SD is a separate standard (I think). They are both widely used by different devices from different manufacturers. MS and MS Duo are proprietary. And they are not compatible. Will you be able to insert a (normal) Memory Stick into your P800? Don't think so...

@faca

Memory stick is licensed to a lot of other manufacturers. I agree SD or MMC may be nicer, but mem stick is not all that bad.

It remains to be seen how expensive and available the duo is, but at least the p800 has got removable memory...
There is not a lot of point having lots of apps written for the 7650, beucase with only 4meg it will only be able to load one!

That picture is of a normal MS, the duo is a similar size to the SD and MMC, that's quite an old photo now

Sorry if this has already been posted but it is a good read about P800 with reference to bluetooth keyboard & editing Word & Excel files.

"You can also use this as a laptop for a short trip. If you have a Bluetooth keyboard, you can enter all the data you want -- there will be a whole range of peripherals to connect to this wirelessly. People will realise they can carry out work on this, particularly since you can edit documents like Word and Excel."

Hmmm, looks interesting.
