Bulldog is a pretty new company which only started up last year.

Bullgog broadband is provided by cable and wireless, who have been in the uk for several years now. i had them as my cable tv provider about 5 years ago before being taken over by ntl. ntl are my current broadband provider and i have to say i think they are rubbish. we are on 1 megabit and at 7pm the net slows down. we also have crap download and upload speeds compared to my cousins friend whos on the same speed by telewest who gets better download and upload speed.

ok well we had our bulldog provisioned yesterday and all I can say is whaddamistakatamaka!

we've had no home phone for 24 hours and ADSL speed is no where need the claimed 8 megabits. In fact we're getting about 1 megabit

their customer service is appalling and 3 times yesterday I gave up waiting on hold, on my mobile phone, after 45 minutes

early this morning I finally got through to the number that deals with the phone service support and they told me they'd register the fault that my home phone isn't working but it could be monday (or later) before anything is done.

the ADSL support line is only open business hours so I have to wait until 9am to try them again and hope I don't get another 45 minute wait

I'm already thinking of going back to BT for home phone and Demon for ADSL

Also, now that I have access to Bulldogs forums there are many many similar complaints in there about the awful customer service and about the speed issues and also many posts about the fact that when people try to cancel their line its never done!

not impressed at all

AOL recommended by users... /me nearly falls of chair!

Erm, I work in the computer/web design world and I don't know anyone who likes AOL.

What's wrong with someone like www.plus.net?

Have you been here: http://www.ispreview.co.uk/

did you do a check on there website first to see what kind of speeds you could get

i did it it said the most i would be able to recieve was 2mb and that it wasnt guaranteed

they would give the highest speed your phone line could take

Demon have always been good to me but when I last asked them they were not providing anything faster than 1/2 megabit service but when I told them I was cancelling they informed me they were upgrading all subscribers to 2megabit but by then it was too late as I had already signed up with Bulldog.

I'm using the same router as you (the v2 version) and had to download the latest firmware which supports ADSL 2+. This router has always worked great so you should have no probs

i think people are recommeding it as its not capped and its cheap and also you never have to load there software you can connect even with there free modem by setting it up in xp
i had a dig around and found it hard to find many truely uncapped suppliers without paying a premium for the sevrice
