Thank you for the advice, I have been on the waiting list since October, my last text say wc 13 of Nov.
I will call on Monday unless I receive another text saying Dec!
This very long waiting does not make sense (firmware, component issue, low stock etc...) but at least I have got a good deal.
My only advice to anybody waiting for P990 would be to call O2 and ask for PAK code, if we all do it then O2 may give an even better deal and release finally the handset as they have done in Germany!

I had a browse in town today. Carphone Warehouse had one in stock but selling at £219. I went into the o2 shop and they said i could get it for £129 but they had none in stock. So very dasmn frustrating. I have been using my XDA mini for a year but i really fancy the P990i as a change, but o2 don't want to play !!

Might go for the CPW one and at least it won't be flashed with o2 firmware !!

Hello O2 Customers,
Just spoke with retention dep (Select) and they confirmed that the launch date has moved to 4th of Dec!!!
I have asked for my PAC as this is a waste of time, by the look of it the P990 will be probably (but not sure) available either before christmas or next year!
What makes O2 put another 3 weeks on the top of 2 months we have been waiting?
By the way I asked the sale manager why O2 are selling the phone in Germany (O2 German web site) and he told me it was different P990 for the German market!!!!!!!
I rather pay more rather the buy something that is already old when or if I will be able to buy it.
I would have loved to "speak" with O2 procurement dep!!!

I've been waiting and constantly disappointed like many others by this O2 P990 fiasco.
Apart from this, I've been happy enough with O2 service so rather than request a PAC and get a possibly troublesome P990 from Vodafone I asked for a Nokia N73 as upgrade in my frustration.
I've 2 weeks with it to change my mind and send it back....maybe it's not the appropriate place to say it....... but it's rather good

Hi,
I've been following this thread as I too have been waiting and waiting for o2 to get their act together, and have - like many others here - been told 'next week' every week now for months. I might get my PAK code and leave, after 9 years with o2, except that I've mainly had good experiences with the company, and they've offered me a free p990, 800 minutes, 500 texts, 5m extra data, ITS, itemised billing, etc., free weekend calls, etc., for about 35 quid a month. I'm not sure what to do, but I do think we should all complain to o2, even if we do get the phone in the end. It's not acceptable to be so behind all the other networks, and to keep telling fibs to valued customers...
Anyway...
