jadren0s,

I completely agree!
I have been with O2 since the Cellnet age but this time they push it too much. I would really like to know if ALL of us would make a real-formal complain/leave to the head of dep (procurement/sales?) if they would start to panic and kick out who is responsible for this. O2 Germany is selling the P990 so it not a component issue and/or SW!
I think respect is everything that's why I leaving O2.

I think a formal complaint from everyone who's been waiting would have some effect beyond that of our individual nagging. I'm not sure what they would do, but they would at least realise that they can't just fob everybody off. In this day and age, companies need to realise that consumers communicate and compare experiences.

Maybe you should email a link to this discussion thread to Customer Services.
Then again, they'll only ignore it!

Right I have emailed another contact at O2 about this, who is an acquaintance rather than customer service.

He has told me that it has been held up at the manufacturers end, and every one of this series has been delayed for several months as they seem to hold up the distribution.

He says it hasn't even arrived with O2 for accreditation where O2 techies play around to try and break it.

I am stuck with O2 so I can't move, I need a qwerty keyboard as I am always on the move replying to emails and need wifi. I am very close to getting a Nokia E61 but I really want a camera and the XDAs cameras are so bad their is no point getting an XDA.

They can't seem to get their story straight: almost two months ago o2 told me the phone was "being tested on the o2 network".

'sfunny that - t-mobile said the same thing. I was speaking to a techy who kindly went down the hall to talk to the guys in the t-mobile testing section and they reckoned they were expecting their stock "within a month" - that was 3 weeks ago . Every time I've phone t-mobile since then they've answered straight away no news. I also got an odd phone call from the business service team to say that it categorically was not due out - at least this year anyway . Strange that they rang to tell me that .... I'm assuming that they are trying to avoid the debacle that o2 have got themselves into and whilst they will release it - it will only be when thay are happy that a) its not too buggy and b) they've customised it beyond all recognition!

(Wonder if that will become an accepted acronym "cibar" - a bit like fubar)

Could you forward these questions to your O2 contact?

So why O2 Germany are selling P990 on their site foe Eur220?

http://shop2.o2online.de/nw/p[....]-F&duration=24&categoryId=1120

Why vodafone/CW/orange*.. have been selling since September?

Thanks

Hi all,
Whilst i can appreciate the level of frustration you all feel at not being able to get the phone you all want. Think about it realistically do you really think the Networks that have not released it yet are doing it just to annoy you all? and takeing the risk you will leave their Network. Or do you believe that Voda and Orange have taken all the available supplies?

Neither O2 or T-Mobile heavily brand there phones anymore just some start up screens and links is all they appear to do. There has to be a good reason for them not releasing them. Admittedly most on here would be able to use their units but the average user may not find it so easy and just maybe this is the reason they will not release it as they don't want their CS and Tech support tied up with complaints, this is just MO but makes sense to me as disappointing as this may be for a lot of you.

@Dogmann

I agree with you

There are a lot of people posting at my-symbian UIQ3 forum are very unhappy with even the SIM free version of the P990. Some people are so unhappy that they stopped using their P990s. I have not had any real difficulties but many users do seem to have problems. So for O2 and T-mobile customers there may be a bit of a wait but you're probably going to be happier than the Vodafone and Orange customers - especially as the Vodafone customers until last week had very old firmware.

I see your point Dogmann, but what I object to (apart from not having my phone yet!) is that o2 have given various conflicting explanations as to why the phone's release is delayed. I agree that there must be something wrong with the phone (perhaps they are trying to put the newest firmware on all the handsets, or maybe there's a new hardware version...?), but that's no reason to mislead customers.
