So in theory could I just buy the phone from the shop and unlock it myself without taking out the contract?

i dont really like this iphone anymore, only had it a day. The texting is sooo annoying, can't text with phone under the table or while driving lol. No seriouslly, i can't get used to, and don't like touch screen buttons, i prefer the buttons on my N73 and the trusty joystick. Yourtube is good on the iphone though, however thats the only good thing about it. But I can get that on N95 8GIG etc, and loads more applications, i prefer buttons on my phone, thats how i like it lol. Even when the s60 touch comes out, i doubt i would go for it. I am going to be getting the N95 8GIG or anything better, with buttons from Nokia when my upgrade is due in April

I had locked up my (free costing method) unlocked iPhone by upgrading to 1.1.1 but since purchased a licence for the iphonesimfree.com.. and it "unbricked" the phone features on the iPhone and have since upgraded firmware to 1.1.1

I had been using my P1i for a week again... oh I missed the iPhone.... and I really love my P1i...

Anyway... Anyone using iFuntastic on the Mac? You can rename the icon labels on the iPhone... Simple but tis nice to see "Mark's iPhone" in place of phone...

iPhone isn't out until tomorrow (9th Nov) in the uk. UK iPhones will run firmware 1.1.2, this cannot be unlocked (yet).

The one's on eBay are iPhones from the USA whic run firmware 1.1.1 which can be unlocked.

Then again if i buy one of ebay ill need to unlock it again when I update to 1.1.2 right? So am i not better off just buying it from the shops for 270 and then getting it unlocked myself.

Does anyone know of any people/places that have been unlocking iphones so far around London that I could go to. Id like to try it myself (when the 1.1.2 unlock becomes available but dont want to risk messing it up)
