Has anyone posted a question you could not answer?

Only about phones such as Pxxx and Sxxx so far! I don't have experience of these phones!

BTW, just a heads up about the new SonyEricsson Theme Creator v1.60 for Mac. It doesn't appear to like loading themes that have previously been created with "myThemeCreator". It loads the colours but not the images. You'll have to re-import all the images again. Hopefully either SE or Lasyk will fix this.

Theme creator only appears to work on OS X 10.3+.
Will not load on my 10.2.8 anyway.

My mate has just got ibook can I use his 10.3 on my imac, and how is it done?

Yeah, the system requirements state 10.3+

You should be able to use an iBook OS install CD on an iMac no problem.

Backup your iMac first (just in case) especially any important documents and your 'Home' folder.

Then, stick the disk in the drive and restart while holding down the 'C' key. Just follow the install instructions that appear. The installer will just upgrade your 10.2.7 to 10.3.x without affecting any of your files (hopefully!).

You'll then need to run Software Update to get all the latest updaters.

Cheers Jools
quote from previous post;Q:I was wondering when the list was last updated? The Z500 is not on the list, yes, but it is a new phone. Perhaps it has not been tested or "approved" yet it would work. It has no Bluetooth but it does have a USB data-cable (extra cost) like the other phones that work with iSync. So, i guess my revised question is has the SONY ERICSSON Z500A been tested to see if it will work with iSync?

A:This is the short answer to a rather complicated issue: the list has not been updated in some time, and likely never will be. iSync as we know it is not likely to receive anything more than a maintenance update to insure compatibility with pre-Tiger OS and security updates. The synchronization engine built-in to OS X 10.4 will - how shall I put this? - obviate the need for iSync. But, it should also introduce a much more extensible and adaptable platform for synchronization, and should support a much more extensive list of devices. End quote

Suggests Tiger will be more flexible me thinks.

Just got the Sony Serial Cable and a generic USB adapter off of eBay.

I tried connecting to my Mac, but GSM Remote, PhoneAgent and another program called "OnSync" do not recognize anything! Could this be the generic USB Adapter? Do I need a Keyspan branded one? Or do I have to do something over the phone?

Also, isn't there a way I can email or send MIDI's, MP3's and pictures to my phone without a cable? Or am I gonna have to wait for Tiger to sync this phone?

If I can't get this z500 to work, I might have to just go back and replace it with a better one... but I really like this phone so I hope someone can help! Thanks again to everyone.

I've only ever used a Keyspan adapter so I can't say if its the adapter or not. Did it come with Mac OS X drivers? Does it show up in System Profiler? In GSM Remote make sure you select the USB Adapter in the Serial Port pop-up and try different speeds.

I downloaded some drivers for my adapter. Thanks for the tip.

GSM remote now allows me to see "USBserial0". To my suprise it worked!

But then, after a few minutes it displayed "No GSM Phone attached". So I'm back to square one with no idea how to get it working again. I transfered 1 MIDI and 1 JPEG before it stopped responding. How fragile are the Sony Serial cables? Could it have been accidentally damaged?

Any tips?

Thanks - I think I'm almost there...

Good news - I tried a beta version of the new GSM remote and it worked!

I guess the new version sports updated Sony Ericsson support.

If anyone else is having z500 and Mac issues - help is on the way!
