@Boatboy,

go to www.novamedia.de and buy their product. It works every time without failing. I have used it in Kuwait, Germany, Denmark, Dubai, and now Finland and it has never let me down. It is great.

thanks for that, looks excellent. Can download when I have a reasonable connection! Will the connection speed be any greater than 2400bps using gprs? will one version work with any future phones we get?

Paying after buying the phone etc seems a little irksome and as k700 works so well but I have certainly spent more time and money on the problem already. What about waiting for tiger or an update? Any simple connection settings to try?

Thanks again, wish we'd checked with you guys before getting a handset upgrade.

It is not that big a file but it is worth the money.

It works will all of my phones: z1010, s700i, and k700i. All very transparent in their operation.

Finally got my k700i connected to vodafone UK after 5 days and I don't know how many calls to my provider! Yay!!

But ... I came up against the 'feature' of vodafone UK wherby you can't use mp3 files as ring tones/alarms as they weren't drm files, at least not unless you buy them through vodafone live, as I understand it. Well, thanks to a thread somewhere on Esato, I got hold of the SE program to convert mp3 to dm files and it worked Yay again!

So this post is to thank whoever it was [sorry I can't remember exactly which thread I found it on] that pointed me to this software.

FYI, if you look at my sig, I am a Mac user [obviously as it was me who pushed for this thread in the first place, d'uh!] and ran the program in Win XP using Virtual PC. So if anyone else comes up against this issue, it is a solution that works!

Snap! Isn't bluetooth easy on Macs? I *tried* to set it up on a work PC and ended up trashing the OS - had to do a complete reinstall!

I realy love the K700i tho, as I said earlier, just wish SE had gone down the memory card route. If they'd done that, the K700 would be awesome and unbeatable IMHO!

@boatboy The s/w is an SE produced program that *only* works under win 2000 or higher BUT if you have vpc [virtual pc], should be no problem: I have used it successfully on a few mp3s made from songs I own [from cd] and they transfer to my k700i no problem and can be set as ringtones.

So, if you have vpc, you can get this drm converter program from here http://seth.kvalitne.cz/

If you don't have vpc, then it may be a problem

Get back to me and let me know the score...
