still am having problems updating from rl1002. please help. I have communication error or nothing happens.

My problem with upgrading the W800i is that nothing happens after checking the boxes and pressing next. No prompt to downlaod anything, nothing. The page just goes and remains blank under the text that says "welcome to Sony..."
Any ideas? I have tried inactivating the anti-virus, no firewall, no pop-up blocker but that has no effect...
Oh, I have of course installed all the drivers and I've had no problems transferring files or syncing.
And I tried disconnecting the phone and same thing anyways, after checking the boxes it goes blank but nothing after that...

i gave up on updating my clara. what i did was i sent it to Sony Ericsson Service Center. ill wait for 3 day before i get the results. they charged me for it. but who cares as long as my clara will be ok. ill post the results as soon as i receive it.

I was having the 'down stick' bug after months of no probs, updated to this one, simply removed my memstick & updated, no resets or anything
works fine, couldnt see my pics on memstick at first when i put it back in, simply restarted the phone et voila!

Nevermind. Problem solved. It turned out to be because of Java. I didn't have Java installed at all on my cpu... So I installed the 1.4 something version... Strange that I didn't get any prompt about it though.
So now I have R1N035 and everything works fine.

Yep.. the master reset worked for me also..
I was getting also "error communicating the device" message at 53%..
This time the CPU usage goes to 100% when the progress bar was moving from 53% upto 69%.. then everthing goes fine....
But do remember to take backup before doing reset...

I'd like to downgrade back to R1L to see if the firmware really cause the difference in picture quality. Does anyone know how to do that?
Horrible vertical pink and blue lines make image so noisy!!
Night mode makes no difference. This picture was taken in bright sunlight. Indoor pictures are worse.

my bad..i didn't read this thread or any in esato when i updated my firmware to r1n and now my memstick is corrupted...there are times when i connect it to my pc,it does not recognizes it,just blank,there are times its showing the folders,all these ive checked that its firmly connected to the usb cable/pc....
i formatted the memstick in windows xp..its now ok,but some occassional blanks here and there when connecting it,just like mentioned above,,,i tried using disc2phone,it says i transferred successfully the mp3's but when i disconnect it safely from pc and try to view/play it in my k750i,its not there!
what to do???is there any solution to this memstick problem?is reupdating possible without the memstick inside???

Hey! I've already posted the solution to this problem.
ok, this is the exact directory:
E:\MSSEMC\Media files\audio
where E:\ is your removable disk ie your memory stick.
Just place your mp3 here and that will do.
