Yes Mobilink provides data connectivity as well as fax capibility. But these services are for their post paid (indigo) connection only. Data only is for Rs 100 a month and data+fax is for Rs 150. Of course you will be billed for the time you remain connected seperately on a per minute basis.

Mobilink have come out with their EDGE network. Looks like presently it is only for Islamabad but would soon extend to other cities.
Since I live in Lahore I have not experienced it. Anybody from Islamabad who has actually tried it??? How fast is it???

Is there any GSM network in Pakistan where I can sign up with postpaid service while being an overseas Pakistani? I will have a foreign address...or I can provide a Pakistan address of a relative, but cannot verify utility bill matching with my name. I am willing to pay any security deposit.

Hi
yes u can use Ufone Postpaid pakage. u do not need to verify ur utility bill.
you need to provide ur email address. and u will get all ur invoices at your desired Email address.
Copy of National ID card of ur relative or your passport number is required to get Connected.

Javed, thank you very very much for your response. One last question is that if I have a NIC or passport, do I still need to provide a relative's NIC card? Will the line be in my name?
Also, what is the initial connection fee? For the zero line rent package, if I am not in the country, my bill should come to 0 rupees per month, right? Or are there some additional hidden charges? Finally, how do I activate GPRS internet? Is it already active? Is it free to activate? Do I need to pay an additional deposit to do so? Thank you very much!

hi again
no u wil no need of ur relatives ID card if u hav ur own ID card or Passport.
And GPRS is already activated on Ufone Postpaid connections.
you only need to setting up GPRS settings on ur mobile if u r using nokia or sony ericsson phone send setgprs to 120 no spaces in message then u will get GPRS settings on phone then select Install. then u can use ur GPRS if u hav any problium then u can contact Ufone Call center at 333
no there is no monthly or annulay charges of GPRS to be activated. u will be charged only RS: 15/MB. But Mobilink has annual Fee to activate GPRS RS: 100 / year and Data transfer FEE RS: 18/MB.
Ufone is Suitable.
minimum Security deposit for ZLR (Zero Line Rent) = 725/-
Under ZLR pakage if u provide ur email address for monthly invoices then u wil pay RS: 25/ month if u provide utility bill and want to receive Printed Bills Via TCS then u wil pay RS: 50 / month.
on all other postpaid pakages this service is FREE. but on ZLR this is not.
if u r out of country u can use it by activating International roaming.
if u r out of Pakistan and u r not using ur Ufone Postpaid sim (ZLR). then u wil pay RS 25 / month because of monthly invoices. and there is no extra hidden charges.
before leaving Pakistan u can pay advance bill. othervise it will deducted from ur security deposit.
when u r abroad u can pay ur bill via Credit Card on
http://www.ufone.com online billing is not working now a days but hopefully it will work after a month.
if u have another Questions about Ufone then u r Welcom
Thanks Friend

Hello all,
Very attractive post-paid packages are in pipeline, mine has already been changed into Economy package. These are not yet commercially launched. So do look out for the ad in the newspapers.
Also about 60 new products to be launched by Telenor in the coming months which will change the mobile communication in Pakistan.
By the way, mine package has 2 hrs free mins, 25 free sms, 1MB free GPRS and much more.
