Esato for me has improved over time,even though i do miss some of the older members like Pachy,Mixin ect...this is a great forum with some amazing people whome i very much respect like Masseur,Batesie,Sammy_boy,Welshtom,Lynx69,Scotsboy ect...Esato wound'nt be esato without these people....I know some people say that esato isnt the same anymore,but i think esato its getting better overtime as more diverse and interesting people join the forum...a forum is what you make it and as long as you play your part its stays interesting and lively.
Tend to agree with axxxr here, no point in living in the past, esato has a lot going for it with some interesting and also very funny threads, meths stupid hat thread cracks me up everytime I see him with a lampshade on his head

Time to move on people and get on with things,forget about how esato used to be like and concentrate on the here and now.Nothings changed people will always come and go; but as Freddy Mercury once said "The show must go on"

@Axxxr. I meant, changes are what an individual observes/feels. That in turn is due to mixed reasons..

Weird!
That way of categorizing a forum reflects the members/users just as much as the forum itself;
1 The Golden Age
New member! Keen to get answers and to share knowledge.
2 The Silver Age
Starting to get the hang of it, guiding other mebers in the right direction to where to find answers to allready asked questions. Log on in good spirit.
3 Limbo
Regular user who has gotten to know a few members and use the forum to stay in touch at the same time as they are active in category 2
4 Utter Crap
Time to move on to another forum, find a new interest or basically leave to forum to never come back. These members have eigther become too full of them selves to share knowledge and guide newbees. Log on to see where they can cause havoc.
Some new members go straight to catgory 4...

Some quite interesting points there. But i think that esato is so big, so many regular members and it's been going a few years now, that esato may just be one of a handful of forums to break those so called 'rules'. Also why esato will sty active for longer:
it for some reason is not blocked by cafe's or schools as 'chat' websites, and you can access it fine where as other ofrums, you cannot...don't really know why this is with esato?

imho it's people that make forums. Whether a forum's going through a 'golden age' or an 'utter crap' phase is up to the individual's perceptions. I can't comment on anything before I joined, though it sounded good, but there's some pretty good threads and discussions going now

There is absolutely no need for an utterly prepsterous remark like that, this was an adult discussion with valid points, but when people start saying stuff like the above remark, its no wonder people switch off and lose interest.
