There's a load of those 'hacked account' auctions on Ebay, I've noticed, especially in the mobile phone section. You know the ones - selling fourty N90s from an account whic h has only previously bought and sold something like beanie babies, whose 'ask seller a question' button has mysteriously stopped working!

I know, its just annoying with the amount of hacking going on. I mean seriously if you have your account hacked the first thing you gonna do is tell eBay but some ppl dont even realise lol. Turns out the guy I sold my phone to is a Nigerian exporting it...no offence to any nigerians here but seriously why not just buy phones in wholesale!? Now Ive got the impression a charge back is on the way....Argh...I might have to close down my eBay/PayPal accounts cuz i read earlier that even if you have 0 balance in your paypal, it can be drawn from your bank acc and then shown as a negative balance! Scammers p**s me off!

don't get me wrong, i'm not racist or anything...
but my dad has had a lot of trouble with nigirians. he has had many try to send him fake emails from ebay, asking for his account details and also ones who are obviously trying something, when they demand the item first and stuff like that. also many people abroad (i live in UK) that can't quite understand the english on the item on ebay.

my dad once sold some 1st day covers (the special collectable envelopes) to an italian man. he complained and gave my dad a negative point because when he tried to 'open' them, there was nothing inside my dad soon got rid of that negative point, and put him in his place probably an example of a language problem, but still...

Hi bought my current P910i from e-bay unlocked brand new £205 including delivery which i consider a good deal. Have had only one bad experience in 3yrs and even then got most of my money back from e bay. Like others have said if its to good to be true it usually is, choose who to deal with carefully and you should be alright in my opinion. Just bought brand new sealed HCH-37 for £7.99 including delivery and memory sticks can be bought cheaply as well.

I was lucky enough to get the star letter in this month's F1 Racing magazine and won a cracking Panasonic digital camera. As I've already got a nice sony one (with lots of memory sticks to share between camera & P9xx), I want to stick it on e-bay.

Unfortunately, I've never sold on e-bay before, and therefore have no feedback/ratings. Does that mean nobody is likely to bid? In which case, how are you meant to get started with becoming a seller?

Cheers

@Qwerty - Hey mate, well first things first, get your feedback up if you wanna sell, best way you can do that is by buying cheap items on eBay. Alotta people do this, with the exception of me...I havnt actually had to do that cause I just bought loads of crap I needed. Anyway cheap items usually are the 'eBooks' on there as they are usually 99p & free delivery (obv ).
You could even sell small items to get your feedback up like sim cards or even gmail invites if you got any lol. Anyway thats just to get you started, make sure you have a verified paypal acc if you using it; also only deliver to verified paypal addresses! Only saying cause I almost got shafted once before because of it! Otherwise I think ur set to sell

I'd be careful building up your feedback buying cheap items like ebooks. I'm suspicious of anyone whose only feedback comprises of things like that. Try buying something you'd use every day - like batteries, rechargeable batteries for your digicam (if it takes them), perhaps a couple of chargers if you need them, and/or sell a couple of the smaller memory sticks you don't want.

I'm not sure myself.... suggests to me someone getting a bit of quick feedback to do something dodgy - perhaps I'm being a bit cynical, but those who sell things like very cheap ebooks are selling feedback, which is against Ebay rules...

S'pose so Gotta be careful on eBay whichever way... try selling it with 0 feedback (doubt many serious ppl will have a good look at it) otherwise can always try waiting for a bit meanwhile getting your rating up by buying other stuff you may want/need. Anyway good luck to ya and hope you dont get any buggers trying to do you over!
