none... plus ive disclosed the fact that, if it aint phone replacement then ill never come to an SE shops.. ive had it wit them. actually after sales service here in my place (manila, philippines) sux!!! BIG TIME! i just want to update my phone back then for the reason that SEUS made a boo-boo out of it. and then they told me that it had issues with the hardware. (mainboard prob) they told me. shmux! so i asked them wheres this mainboard available? suprisingly they havent got it... actually none SE on a 10KM radius has it.. funny! anyway i wont go on with the stupid story.. just try not to break your sched going thru every SE shops.. just go drop them a line before further pursuing..

max_wedge: Sorry to have come across as inferring people were stupid. I didn't mean it to sound that way. I only used the word "amazed" as to me there is no doubt in my mind that any joystick issue is mechanical. And, I just can't see the reason why any "digital" (on/off) joystick would need calibrating and I can't see how it would be achieved. I'm not poking fun I'm just trying to offer supportive advice. The symptoms you describe with dust could be attributed to the dust/dirt moving around in the joystick. Once dust builds up in a certain location there could be enough to prevent the joystick from being able to completely press the switch inside. Wear and tear could also be a cause - look at what effect wear and tear had on N64 joysticks. There is also the issue of corrosion within the switches - this can have an effect - even the smallest build up of carbon. This carbon can sometimes be loosened or rubbed away by aggressive motions. Dry solder joints could also be a factor of just bad alignment on the circuit board. All of these are just some possible scenarios to explain what you experience. Anyway I'm sorry to have taken this post of topic. Perhaps, if you would like to continue this discussion, we should start a new thread dedicated to this very topic.

Back on track - I would like to know if anyone noticed if pressing the joystick downwards during playback of a video in the walkman player resulted in slow motion in previous firmware’s. I had never noticed this before. It's a nice feature to have the slow motion.

I've still got no serious complaints about this F/W. Obviously they will have to publish a final F/W at some point and this could be it - if it is generally reliable and fault free. We should consider ourselves lucky that SE do update their F/W and give us this option to flash our phones from home. I wish LG had this option with the junky 7100 I had a 1.5 years ago.

When I say "it crashes" I mean that:
1) wallpaper (animated) will disappear and the screen turns gray
2) animated icons in the menu turn into BLACK SQUARES when icons are highlighted
3) java games start giving "Not enough memory..." errors.

Ditto that! This is the first time I have read of this problem here. I too have had that very same issue for some time, but didn't document it because I thought it was a 'my-handset-only' problem. My K750i did this perhaps once or twice a fortnight (not as frequently as yours however, Tervel) on two of the previous firmwares, it is yet to do it on R1BC, but this isn't saying a lot at this stage.

It comforts me to know that it is not just my phone. Good thing I didn't take it back for this fault!

It's terrible when you get a new piece of technology and it faults like this in the first few hours of using it - as my K750i did. It shot my 'this-phone-is-a-tank' feeling.

R1L002 atleast (my old firmware) could do slow motion. Very handy it's true.

R1BC seems almost perfect so far. I've noticed some possible headset incompatibilities reported but isn't that par for the course with bluetooth headsets?

I did find MyPhoneExplorer only runs at 8KBps now compared to the usual 40. (on bluetooth serial emulation). Other programs and xp native all work fine. So there may be some changes to bluetooth serial that only manifest in MPE. Or something else may explain it.

I don't think it is perfect but maybe as close as it can get. With so many features it would be hard to get it 100% correct for everyone. Here's what I posted in the main Firmware thread relating to a bug/annoyance I have found:

"I still think R1BC002 is the best so far - on face value. Although, there is one nasty feature that occured to me last night. Last night, when viewing and zooming in on a picture my phone locked up completely. i.e. All lights stayed on with hour glass hovering over the picture I was viewing - keypad totally locked up. I had to remove the battery. This happened once or twice to me with the previous R1AA008 Firmware. So I guess something that has not been addressed in the new firmware. "
