There was a trick on the K700 i think, when you use the code and check if the light works then go out quickly it would have a strobe light effect, any one tried it yet?

I do not think if was a trick, buyt actually a feature. As I stated, if you leave the Xeon burning too long it will burn up. It is not designed to burn constantly. Why is this hard to understand?

I reckon the flash is too weak, sometimes the interior shots at night look better with the flash off rather than on.

Make sure that you set the permissions for the midlet to "Multimedia" = No or you will get lots of questions about access to the camera when you run it.

No, certainly not. The midlet does nothing that the camera does not. What it does is to activate the camera set to night conditions with autofocus, this way the phone will try to get focus and hence activating the the led. You might here a small "click" when the auto focus is activated.

All this can be done thanks to that the phone is JP 7 and has the camera part of JSR 234 implemented. It wouldn't not possible on for example a k750 (JP 6).
