I am a musician, i have check today side by side my new K800i with my W800i and this last one is far more better sound than my new K, this last one is very compresed sound i hate the way it sounds, i even put the same songs on both mobiles to hear the diference, W800 is much better, is nearly as good as my iPod 30gb, on the other hand my new K is dull sound and not crispy, by the way I also love the Super Bass is a good idea sometimes in some songs, I hope they fix this bad sound on our K800i

I Completely agree, I had a K750i, and Sold it to my close friend and bought a K800i, and sound quality is soft compare to the K750i, it makes me jealous when we play music on our phones and my new next-gen phone lacks sound quality. Also, if I do recall, yes the K750i had a sound issue when it was released and then was later fixed on a firmware update. BTW I have software Verison: CXC1250214 R1CB001060608 if that helps anyone then great!!
SE BRING BACK THE MUSIC PLEASE!
P.S. the earphones that came with my K800i broke the 4th day I had them, and I want to know if there is some kind of warranty for that?
P.P.S. my phone SOMETIMES tends to restart on its own while I am listening to music on speaker and playing a game at the same time...SHITTY, but I know with a little fine tuning SE will make us all proud!

I've had that problem as well, i hope SE will come out with the new firmware, but i don't think it'll really help me as i have no warranty so SE won't update the firmware for me.

I agree it sucks.
Coming from the K750.
Less bass. I use a Fastport to 3.5mm audio adapter with normal earbuds.
I actually LIKED the file structure based media player from the k750.
You can play music directly from the list.
In K800 you see only the currently playing song. You can't see the next or previous one in the list.
Why the F*** use the whole screen just to display the currently playing song?! I can hear what's playing!!! Just let me see the rest instead of wasting all that space.
Also you cannot select a folder to play.
Titles are listed on alphabet. This sucks because everything gets cluttered because the id3 tags sometimes have different names. I want the option to list on filenames instead of tags.
This forces you to make playlists wich is time consuming.
Just not functional. Now i have to choose, camera or music player...

Some one else can welcome this guy, his attitude is discusting.
@ twistile
Calm down man, were sorry Sony Ericsson hasn't fulfilled your wan'ts! Some of the best mp3 players have the Now Playing feature : iPod, Iriver, Walkman etc...
Towards the playlist issue, thats been implimented for organization reasons. Don't you think it's un-organized if you have albums and genres all together. I think you just suffer from being a bit lazy!!! Which is rediculouse espacially on a phone!!!
BTW why is there another concerning the K800's sound quality sucking

in the W800 mediaplayer, you can use up and down joystick to scroll through the list of songs, without leaving the playnow screen and without stopping the current song.
Is everyone 100% sure you CAN'T do this with the K800? Has anyone actually tried up or down joystick to see what happens? It seems very bizzare to me that K800 would have a playnow screen that's not as flexible as the W800.
I guess another question is does the W810 playnow screen behave like K800 or W800?

On my W810 I can do exactly what you're asking. I dont own a K800 so I'm not sure.
@Max, you're seriously on a missing to upgrade your K750i to a perfect transition, but if you can live with the further seperation that the K800 has from the upcoming w850i then I think you'll be fine. I know that you MUST have a lense cover!
One walkman feature that I HOPE gets implemented with

2 is the ability within the playlist to manually drag songs in ANY order you wish instead of using the sort function.

On k750,W800 and W810, cristal sound, lot of power, great superbass with hpm70, try give volume to your K800 and you will see that the volume for music (same melody and same earphones-hpm70) is by far too slow.Give volume to your K750,w800,w810 and you`ll se the big diference.K750,w800,w810 performs like phones as welll as good music players;K800`s music volume is too slow!!!Why SE did this to all SE`s fans.I`m not the only one with this point of view and I was especting K800`s sound to be at least as the k750.Any idea if it will be improved???
