absolutely loving my M600i. For its size and price it's fantastic. I'm finding O2 3G coverage good (not been too far out of manchester tho) so no real need for WiFi and as for the lack of camera - well i'm just going to put the £200 i saved by buying the M600 instead of the p990 towards a proper digital camera with bluetooth

Hi all,
So now i have had my M600 6 days it has become my main phone but only for certain things. I have installed SwissManger and many thanks again to Cellphonesoft for a really great free app. A good quality interface good icons and does all i need it to do thanks to it i always have 15mb Free Ram.
The functions that i have assigned to it are Calender, Phone, Music Player, Photo Album. To my N93 are Movies, Videos and Internet browsing sorry but as fast and stable as Opera is i just prefer the Safari based Nokia browser in Landscape mode its in a different class IMO. Same goes for movie playback as the processor and 3D graphics are much more powerful and obviously takeing pictures and or Video. I don't even bother using Wlan as 3g is plenty fast enough and on T-Mobile is unlimited and every time I wanted to use WiFi it wanted the blasted Wep Key a complete pain. I am glad i waited till now to get my M600 and must thank those that reported its progress so well. The last thing that has shocked me is just how good the HBH-DS970 with this phone is it has to be heard to be believed also with this latest firmware they must of increased the volume as three quarters is plenty loud enough for me. I would recommend a Sim free version to anyone without hesitation at this point but suggest not trying to add too many additional apps as this does seem to cause problems with the newer versions of Symbian.

Marc

Most of us dont use the camera so yo have to choose between:
-Ugly brick with wi-fi (P990i)
-Or very pretty phone without wifi and very comfortable (M600)

FOR MR GO FOR M600

ok, i'm havin p990 now, not very impressive, missed the keyboard on m600 n its better memory management. obviously, the current firmware still acted wickedly with some random reebots when browsing through opera after a couple days of usage. i strongly believe it's due to memory leakage. it failed to recover the used memory. but u never knw when u r going to need a decent camera, wifi used casually, and radio as well. keyboard aint bad either. so i think i'd have to b patient for next firmware release.

seriously, if u don't need wifi or camera or a radio, m600 is much way better!

It's so hard to choose. Each has pros and cons.
I really like the design and QWERTY of M600 but do need camera and WiFi on P990. So I have both.

I like the M600. But unfortunately I can't get my hand on an unbranded one around hear.

What I don't like about the 990 is the shape not so different from 910 and also I've been reading a lot of discussions around here it looks like its one hell of a buggy boogy machine.

My Orange branded P990 arrived today.

As for all the posts about buggy this and buggy that, I've not had a single crash yet..... i've tried quite a lot of things including vijay 3d golf, the camera/video app, the calendar, messaging. It all works fine so far....

Oh and I've taken the flip off and its bloody sexy. Jampacked with function and sexy piece of kit to go with it. Yes its not as slim as the m600 but hell this phone is a beast and with its size it demands a certain respect especially when you show off what it can do.

The backlit keyboard is just damn sexy. Future firmwares can only improve this phone and make it quicker.

My opinion is that P990 has got more "normal phone" left in it than the M600. The FC mode kinda makes it another unit (in a good way!), which is good when you don't have both hands free. The M600/W950 solution of touch screen soft keys isn't very good for one hand operation, since it then needs you to touch the screen with your fingers... On the other hand, the M600/W950 home screen is much more useful than the P990 one... I don't really see the reason to hide that functionality under a button (to open the today screen), like the P990 does. Anyway, the fact that P990 uses MemoryStick Duo is great when it comes to disk space. 8GB will be (I only have 1GB now, but an 8GB is on the wish list) a lot more useful than 2 GB for me, since I use my P990 as an MP3 player too. It will take a while for the M2 cards to reach that level...

Had a M600i and sold it for the P990. Just recently bought the M600i back. The reason for me was because of the bulk of the P990i. Similar functions without cam, wifi, and FM radio. I find the M600 easy to use with one hand and actually easy to type short messages with one hand too. Yes you need to use the touch screen, but I don't mind that. The keyboard for me is easier to type on than the P990i.

Still I kept the P990 and can't decide which will be the main phone, because although it's bulky the P990i is still a damn sexy phone.
