@eskimo
try a firmware update with SEUS (back-up first) to get the new firmware
To maximise RAM:
1. Uninstall the games (!)
2. Delete private data in Opera
Re-boot, wait 5 minutes, you may have as much as 16MB of RAM

@ jah
So I just re-booted and I get 12 MB free. I do not get how deleting the private data in Opera and un-installing the games can free up 4 MBs of RAM when the starts fresh. I am missing a lot of info I guess

@text recievers
Did you sign up on shop.o2.co.uk to recieve messages or something? I signed up there to recieve email alerts, not text alerts...
Although I signed up online for the email alerts, I received nothing. The text came from the cust serv centre after the telephone agent "put my name on one" for me.
Although I must agree...I'll believe this when I see it, I honestly don't think we'll see the p990 from O2 until late November or even December. Hope I'm proven wrong.

Aaah, I C.. I sincerely hope you're wrong about November. I'm rapidly decreasing my mobile phone usage due to using my old old old T68i... I miss smartphones...

@scroitoru
I am not sure why I get the extra RAM but I don't use games so I deleted them and I had problems with Password Manager so I deleted Private Data and the result was at one point (older P990 firmware) I had 16.2MB of RAM reported after reboot and 5 minute wait. Now I only have 16MB of RAM. Please note I don't use ActiveSync or any other Push email systems.

When I posted about how much ram I had left I got it wrong.
According to the storage wazard I'm using 25/62 of the ram.
18mb is used up by media files
4mb is used up by messaging
2mb is used up camera pics
The rest is 1k here 1k there. I have deleted the games and demo's etc but from what I could see most of them are stored on the memory card which I've given to a mate. At the moment I do not have a duo card installed.
From what you guys are saying it sounds as though vodafone has installed a lot of it's own rubbish and left you very short.

@eskimo
the P990 has two types of memory:
- RAM for running apps which is usually 15MB (see flip closed, More>Status)
- flash memory for apps and data and other content is a max of 62MB but usually around 55MB is free (and you use storage manager to view that)
To uninstall from flash ot main internal memory go to Tools>Control panel>other>Uninstall

Just had a look in there and nothing was listed. But thanks for the tip.
