there's really no point going around the threads asking if there is any announcements because if there was we'd be discussing it!

If data traffic (edge, 3G) would be less expensive a lot of new features would be made possible. SE is right to complain.
Imagine what kind of on-line, realtime information one could get on a mobile... and how nice it would be to have your (bluetooth) mobile as universal connecting device.
It would also open the way for more different mobiles, such as a psp-like device that would do TV or that could stream music from your home computer's iTunes, connect your bike computer to a fitness website while on the road to follow your training, etc. etc.
The tech is there, it's content that we need.
