Just to see what I am talking about. No chrashes or errors in my case and do use it heavy (wifi, opera-a lot of downloading, music, movies, books, office, phone, sms, email, mass storage, call and message auto management, finance calculation-loans, cash flow, etc, etc.)

@KOTO, thanks again, this statistics by you give me more confidence. am egerly waiting for the call from SE representative to check the 990i with updated FW. Can n e body please let me know what is the latest FW for 990i? so that i can check and then start testing the phone.

Shaktinanda, my organiser is R4A13 but it is not the latest. Do a good testing before you decide. Try as many applications and various combination as you can. If you see some strange behaviour, specialy if it crashes for no reason than off course you will not buy it. But dont expect to open to many apps at the same time. As example it is ok to open opera, contact, messages, media and even calendar (if nothing else is in the background) but more than that and there is high posibility that some of them will be automaticaly closed. So multitasking is possible, no doubt, I do it on regular basis but it is also restricted.

I was soo let down by it but then i thot tht tht P990 was like 8 monhts old and was running the old firmware...if i buy a new one i will probably get the new firmware...or i ll download it...but my question is tht i want to know wid 100% surety...DOES THE NEW FIRMWARE RESOLVE THE HANGING/REBOOTING PROBLEM OF THE P990 ONCE N FOR ALL? coz admittedly however good the phone is if itz gonna restart in the midst of everything i do then itz not worth having...since i v 2 buy it tomm plz temmme the new firmware( if i update via SUES) will resolve the restarting problem rite?
Also how come there are no new 3D games comin out for p990?

I think people already told you, that normally a p990 with latest fw will be stable and won´t reboot frequently.
Regarding 3D games, there is a thread about it where you can find about at least 6 UIQ3 native 3D games, not to mention Skyforce and Skyforce reloaded

Today i waited for the SE represetative's call for testing the phone with new FW till evening then i called up due to eagerness but to my diapointment he replyed that he can't do it untill i confirm of buying that set. Now the ball is in my court and i have no option left for testing new FW. Since u guys are telling that the device is stable with new FW i am going 4 it tomorrow. Sud i update the FW myself or i sud ask that damn representative of SE to do this for me? please advice. some how i feel i can do better then this guy.

It's not only the update. u shud also master reset and format the internal drive BEFORE and AFTER the FW upgrade. and I guess the SE rep will not to this length, hence I recommend you just get it and do it urself.
and of this not works for you, since u got it from a store, u can always return if worst comes first.
