I can vouch though that the W810i's durable - dropped mine in the Peak District onto some rather rough stones, battery cover came off, battery flew out - put it all back together and works fine! Couple of barely noticeable scratches (you have to be really looking and in the right place to see them), only thing is that cam lens can lose it's coating!

The K750 shutter is durable, after having taken over 5000 photos with my K750, and not a sign of failure yet I can vouch for it. As to the W810 screen, I'm not sure why you think it any better than the K750? Both are made of quality poly carbonate material.
The joystick is a whole other argument
I'll say this; my own joystick is still working perfectly after over 18 months since I cleaned it last and close to 2 years of total use. However other people I know manage to stuff their joysticks, and the only common denominator I see everytime is that they don't case their phone and just let it float around in their pockets or handbags. Fortunately I prefer to carry my phone on my belt, so it's cased most of the time. The other huge advantage of casing the phone; my screen is flawless, not a scratch.
Personally I think if you are gonna pocket a phone rather than case it, scratched screens and clogged up joysticks are par for the course. No phone manufacturer designs phones that aren't susceptible to those factors. (a handbag is an even worse environment than a pocket!)

You're right, of course, @max. To be honest, I was quite hesitant about getting my K750i as so many people here on Esato have complained about the joystick. I'm not saying the joystick's flawless, but I've been using mine for about half a year without any problems. Of course, I do take pretty good care of all my phones, and in the K750's case, I try to clean the joystick a little whenever I notice dust accumulating on the exposed areas. I think a little maintenance goes a long way.

you are right of course Maggflod, but I'm just reporting my findings, not a scientific analysis with proof
Never-the-less I am very happy with my K750, and when I had a W810 back on my K750 for several months, I SEVERELY missed my active lens cover.
