However, having downloaded stuff in the past couple of weeks, downloading on t-mobile s network was really fast compared to O2's - there was a major difference, quite surprising really.
O2 were until recently capping some of their customers:

I'm glad they finally got the ball rolling since I started this topic but I think what's missing in SE now is HSDPA in their smartphones and I suspect it has a lot to do with UIQ3 implementation in their devices, that's why only X1 is expected to have it running on WM, and that's why other UIQ devices either don't have it or are taking too long to be announced. While it's good that they're finally implementing HSDPA in some of their Walkman, Cybershot and mid range devices, I think it's really odd that they don't have it in their smartphones where it would matter the most. Is this some sort of twisted strategy or purely a sign of technical ineptness?

One feature I'm impressed with that seems to have been overlooked is that one can now surf and call at the same time. Previously if using the phone as a modem I couldn't send/recieve calls. This was the main reason I got a Vodem. Now its unnecessary.

Well, using 3.xG gives you that advantage, not GPRS though (then again who uses GPRS anymore right?) because you'd still have to disconnect to make/receive calls. I can't really be sure about EDGE though
