Three times only? I had Sbp Backup reboot my phone, an i-mate JasJam, daily through scheduled backups to keep the phone somewhat stable. This was one of my reasons for returning to P990. Not for the abundance of apps but better stability and vendor actually releasing updates to the phone's firmware.

did u consider other backup solutions before anything else?
why stick with SPB?!
and getting releases out often means that the phone still has bugs. so again, not a real argument.
the more FW releases the more were bugs identified. and with any new release new bugs will come up.
so the fewer releases, the more stable the phone is. right?!

@kalu:
Spb Backup was not a problem - it was a solution. Through scheduled backups I had the phone reboot every night. This helped to keep the phone more stable.
The problem with Windows Mobile is that most vendors rarely pass on the AKU level updates Microsoft release for the WM operating system. If the phone has bugs, like the JasJam had, you have to learn to live with them.
I have had experience with S60 (Nokia 6600), UIQ3 (P990) and WM5 (i-mate JasJam), and the main thing common to all the smartphone platforms have been then instability and unreliability. The only reason for my P990 not be crashing every day is due to firmware becoming mature and that I do not cram the phone with third-party apps.
Although I love the phone I do not think that my next phone will be a smartphone.

it's a solution no to lose his data.
since WM is the worst mobile OS available, you can't rely on it.
therefor you'll have to secure your data on a daily basis.
i don't see how a backup tool can increase the durability and stability of WM

It's not the backup itself but the reboot the backup tool performs that is of benefit. The same reason you rarely can have a Windows PC up and running for more than a day at a time. By rebooting daily you keep your Windows Mobile or PC happy. Note the keyword here is "Windows". Anyone here used the Linux-based phones?
