I wonder if it will be possible to flash a P1i with W960 firmware, like previously possible with the K750 to walkman phone (forgot which one exactlyl)..... but we're talking a whole different thread alltogether... might just start one up to get the speculations going.
Would be cool if you could install the W960's Walkman Touch Player (Sony XMB, pretty much) without the rest of the firmware (wouldn't want to lose QWERTY keys

).

@mannyS: You can start by saying that their webstore claims it's in stock (checked 10:45 GMT 3/08/2007).
Unfortunately other people here, including myself, have found that the O2 sales team haven't really got a clue what's going on, you just have to persist and you will get your phone. I personally decided to wait a few more weeks to see if I can get it free on another network my threats of cancelling my order, after being messed about by the sales team, didn't work, they just cancelled straight away (shows you how much they care).
Good luck, hope you'll have better luck than me.

mannyS,
just got off the phone to o2 again, after complaining quite alot yesterday i got to talk to 1guy who was quite helpfull and promised me a callback today which he did...im told my phone is on its way to me and at my local dhl branch. he told me my 1st bill would be £36 but he has actually put £50 credit to my account
my complaints were that i have made many phone calls to o2 on premium rate number at minimum of 10mins at a time (didnt mention its a company phone hehe, its the prinicpal) and all the problems i have had and mistakes that have been made regarding my order are all due to o2..
1) ordered phone with o2 telesales (spent about30mins on phone to 0870 number), the credit check was rejected which at 1st they wouldnt tell me why & after few phone calls found out they put my wrong birthdate on signup.. o2's fault.
2) I was told to reorder phone online, which i did. phoned same day to check it went through as never recieved confirmation email...next day nothing so called again then told sorry its out of stock, i explained it has never shown that on there website. i got put on hold once again and the guy said its not out of stock and is sorry but he has now reordered my phone again.
3) called o2 again yesterday many times as didnt recieve confirmation email and each person i spoke to was not sure what was happening, 1 guy even suggested ordering it again then said to wait till today and see what happens. he promised to call me back this morning to sort it out if it was not out for delivery & £50 credit which he did.
hope this helps mate

dont forget the flushed screen! makes the w960 more finger-friendly. but then again....p1 is available now. wonder why the prices are sooo low compared to the first 4 p-series phones. i hope it's not buggy and therefore wont drop prices like mad.
It's cheaper because it's made in China as compared to the rest of the P-series which were made in France

price doesnt have to do with where its made. They are made by the same machines, doesnt matter if its in China, France or Fiji
its competition! only a couple days after its release, it wasnt selling 'well', (or as well thought it would) so in order to compete with other manufacturers, the price needs to be lowered, hence the price drop!
